Taper candles.

Shelby, on October 14, 2019 at 5:33 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 5
My reception venue doesn't want open flames but I really wanted to have candlesticks on the tables. Would it look cheesy if I had them and just didn't light them? I've looked for led taper candles and some of them are nice but to expensive.

I’m also going back and forth on this. I’m waiting for cyber Monday to see if there are good enough deals on LED candles. Alternatively, they make sheaths for taper candles that covers the open flame. Still pricy though from what I’ve been able to find. Also, I’ve seen a lot of staged photos with unlit candles and it looks cool. Aunt sally may not understand it and think someone forgot to light them but if you don’t care what aunt sally thinks then go for it!

Welcome to the WeddingWire community, Shelby!

Hannah had the same dilemma before, and she decided to have them but unlit. She also shared some photos after the wedding, check them out here - Unlit Taper Candles for Morning Wedding. It looked beautiful!

Does this help to see photos of a wedding where they had them unlit?

You have probably figured this one out by now. But to answer your question, no it’s not as the aesthetic candles but would still look good on the table set. When we were hosting a brunch event, we still had these tapered candles set up on the table, which we got from this seller onlineSince the sun was up, we didn’t fire them. So I suggest you do the same, after all, it’s your event, so its up to you to decide.
