Tapered Candles in Centerpieces

Misty, on July 7, 2016 at 1:59 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 5

So, I really want to have brass candlesticks with tall tapered candles as part of my centerpieces. However, my venue does not allow for flames that are higher than the container (tea lights). The candles I want won't be the focus of the centerpiece, just an accent to it.

Is it strange to have them unlit? Or perhaps create mock flames out of gold metallic paper? I know I can get the battery powered ones... but I personally would prefer an unlit real candle to a battery powered fake one. Any opinions? Thanks so much!

Thanks for reminding me to ask my venue about this!

I think it would be weird to have them unlit or to do a mock flame. What about having brass hurricane candle sticks? Like this...

The flowers could work... what I'm planning on doing is sort of a combo of these two images... with the eucalyptus, large fabric peonies that I'm making, the rock/marble with the table number, and brass candlesticks...

Years ago, I got glass votive holders with a glass peg on the bottom so they would fit into candlesticks like you have in the pic. I think they came from Princess House or Home Interiors or Partylite.

    Maybe someone still makes them???
