Taping for dd strapless dress?

Bridget, on September 4, 2020 at 10:08 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 15
Had my final fitting today and although I got boning added, I feel like my breasts still aren’t getting the lift I want. Any suggestions? It’s also a low back and sheer top. Thanks!! Taping for dd strapless dress? 1

My go to is usually Hollywood breast tape. But I’m not sure if it will work with a strapless dress. You could definitely give it a try! It’s really inexpensive, so if it doesn’t work you won’t be out a lot of money.

Sculpt boob tape is great too! This video shows different ways you could use it under a strapless dresshttps://youtu.be/odmyti-90re

Have you seen the sticky bras? They have a bunch of different names. But it's like an oversized pasty that can be lifted and pulled together to help keep boobs nice and tight. You can find them at Walmart or other box stores. It comes in a box with a variety of sizes available. My dress is an open back and I used the sticky bras they worked wonders. Be sure to get a skin colored one instead of white that way if it happens to poke out slightly it's not extremely obvious. Hope that helps.

You could try “Bring It Up” sold on Amazon. Follow directions super carefully. Good luck!

My dress has boning in it, but we added a waist stay right below the bust line (like where the band of a bra goes) to pull that part tighter. The seamstress had taken the dress in enough at my waist to make it feel tight, but I feel like they don't always account for the fact that on people with larger boobs the rib cage is also fairly small. My dress isn't as sheer as yours and it was slightly noticeable (to me) in some pictures, but it made me feel a lot more supported and like my dress wasn't fighting with my boobs.

Let me know if you need a better description/pictures.

With that dress you could use a stick on bra that clasps in front, like the NuBra. Pulling the girls together in front should give them some lift. Because your dress is completely strapless and has a low sweetheart neckline I think rabbit bra or boob tape would likely show.

Another bra to consider is Misses Kisses. It's basically a shaped wire with boob paddles. I have never tried it, but it looks like it would work with this type of dress. They are expensive though (I think like $150), hence the reason I haven't tried it.

They have sticky bras that work pretty well. I am large chested and need support. The sticky bras are pretty good.

No, I found mine at Nordstrom if that helps. I don't trust Amazon honestly when it comes to bra support.

This thread is a few years old so you will get a better response by starting a new post.

That said, I and a couple of my bridesmaids are in that size range and we had great luck using Goodlines tape. It provided lift and support that sewn in cups didn’t.
