Target Registry....yay or nay?

I haven't heard great things about Target's wedding registry, but it's my favorite store. We registered for most things at BBB and Sur La Table, but there are some small decorative things we like at Target but I've heard their registry can be a pain to deal with. Anyone have any advice either way...

My FH and I randomly decided to register there and had a blast doing it. We were there for a few hours and ended up getting a good amount of things on there.

My fiance's sister (who is one of my bridesmaids) registered at Target (she got married in July 2012) and she said NOT to register there. She told me that if you do not have a your receipt to return items they will NOT give you store credit. I do not think they will even give you at least 50% for the item. I did some research on stores that are good to register at and Bed Bath and Beyond was number one everyone I searched and from people I talked to. I hop this helps!

We registered at Target, and have had no problems. The only "problem" we had is our first scanner died while we were using it, but we got a new one and kept on putting things on our registry.

We registered at Target. We have a small registry since we're having a small wedding. I've known several people who have used Target with no trouble. I've purchased gifts for people off their registry there too with no problems.

I registered at Target when I got married and I was very pleased with the process. The registry takes 24-48 hours to update after a person buys an item from it so yes, you might get multiples of some items. We got 3 Pyrex sets. If you don't get a gift receipt, you can still return IF they bought from the registry and it was marked as such. We didn't have receipts for the Pyrex sets and we were easily able to return them.

Besides, if you register at Target, you get a 10% off coupon for ANYTHING left on your registry after your wedding. We had about $100 worth of returns (multiples) and few hundred in Target gift cards so we had a huge shopping spree there the week after our wedding. Smiley smile

We havent started registering yet, but i did try to register there last time i was engaged. Apparently there was another couple who registered at the same store, with our same first and last names, and same wedding date so it would not allow us to create a registry. We used stores with more updated systems.
