Tasting: Who did/do you plan to bring?

Jolie, on March 20, 2019 at 10:47 AM Posted in Planning 0 15

After the cake tasting FH said he didn't want to do anymore tastings or anymore meetings basically lol. I was like fine whatever I will take my mom to the food tasting. I am kind of relieved because my mom is a no bullsh**tter and will help me with decisions and getting our cheese/meat board app situation resolved in lieu of a portion of the 6 app options they provide and probably at no extra charge too. Fingers crossed.

Who are you bringing and why?

We brought both sets of parents to our food and cake tasting! We've handled a lot of the planning on our own so we wanted our parents to be there for some of the more fun things Smiley smile

No tastings for us. We did one cake tasting, and booked that vendor. FH's aunt owns her own catering company and is doing our catering. We trust her enough that we don't feel the need to taste pre-wedding. Sounds like this will be a good bonding time for you and your mom though. I think y'all will have fun doing this together!

My FH and I did our cake tastings, 2 in one day was a bad idea haha.

Our venue has seasonal menus so we'll be doing ours towards late summer and he plans on coming with me to that as well.

He's the cook in our house so this is one of the few things he feels like he can contribute towards in our plans.

We just had the two of us for our tasting. We didn't want a lot of opinions to have to work through and to try and please everyone so we felt it was easier.

My fiance LOVED tastings haha it was the only thing he really cared about! The first one we went by ourselves, the second we brought my mom & stepdad, and the third we brought his mother & sister. My mom & stepdad like almost anything, and his mom & sister like very basic food and are super picky, but it was still nice to have other opinions.

I have to fly out of town for my tastings and my fiancé can’t come. My brother who is my bridesman is the only person in the area who could take off work.

We only went to one tasting, our caterer, and it was just myself and my fiancé. We had so much fun and didn’t need anyone else’s input!

It was my FH and our wedding planner. Less participants, less opinions. The caterer that we are using is one of the best in our area so we already knew we would like the food, so it was really just a formality. It was very fun, they made it fancy! Smiley smile

Just my fiance and I to both the cupcake tasting and the plated dinner tasting. We basically knew what we wanted and did one taste test for our baker and our caterer. We didn't want any opinions, but wanted to make sure we both liked the food so we know our families will at least enjoy the food too. Both were amazing so we are not worried at all!

My fiance and I went together. We didn't want anyone else going with us. We did both the cake tasting and food tasting on the same day. We live 4 hours from our venue so we wanted to do as many things within one day as possible. We also meant with our decorator to do the walk through that day. I would be really upset with my fiance if he refused to go to any meetings with me. He isn't really helping plan much so I feel the least he could do is attend meetings.
