I have always heard that Dermablend http://www.dermablend.com/allproducts/ is the best for tattoos. Good luck!

Make sure you trial it first. In my opinion a badly covered up tattoo would make things worse! Although I feel that displaying your tattoo that is a part of YOU is more sexy than covering it up. Unless it's another guy's name or something. Smiley smile

As a photographer, I have to say that the tattoos are you. I am not a fan of significant photoshopping of images where you slenderize a person, remove blemishes, piercings, etc. unless the person specifically requests it, as it isn't a true display of yourself. That is a person showing off their photoshopping skills, not photographic skills.

If they are that big of a deal to him, tell him that you can pay the photographer extra to photoshop them out in your selected images. Otherwise, and from a person with tat's, show them off!

I guess I see it as kind of selfish. After all he is marrying YOU, and they are part of you!

Yep, I had this same problem. It was an ex boyfriend's name (oh the stupid things we do when we're 18!). For us, nothing worked in covering it, at least not completely. We ended up forking out $200 and covering it with a new tattoo, but I'm really glad I did it. If they are just tattoos he doesn't like but you want to keep, that's kind of tough. Honestly, I couldn't find anything at all that would last all day and all night. If you don't care about the tattoos and are ok getting rid of them, I hear laser removal works the best. But I also know people who ended up with some pretty bad scars because they went to a bad place. Good luck!!!

Hi. I would have to say airbrushing is the way to go..Both for covering your tattoos and for your wedding day makeup..

I had a friend that had a huge one on her ankle and wanted to cover it up. She found some sort of makeup that was intended for burn victums to cover scars and such. I can't recall what it was called, but worked like magic. I was amazed.

Maybe use some of the above keywords to find it?

    Good luck!

I just had to cover a tattoo for a bridesmaid yesterday. There are a few factors to think about. first, you must consider what colors you need to cover. The tatt yesterday was an inky blue/black and about the size of a dollar coin. First I used several coats of a very yellow creme makeup from an fx bruise kit all over and let it dry well. Then I added a few more layers of a skin toned makeup base with heavy pigment to blend it in. Then set it with powder. The tatt was covered well but did look like a very dry and textured patch of skin. I spent at least 15 minutes just to get this small tatt to disappear.

If you are covering other colors, such as red or green you might need to use other primer shades to block it out first.

Depending on where your tatts are, it might be impossible for you to do this yourself. As to airbrushing, I do not know if you can get enough coverage from it, and would suggest trying it out first.

    Hi There,

Airbrush is wonderful for covering a tattoo. Although a similar product to the airbrush makeup, the camouflage product will provide a deeper coverage and will not move AT ALL. Most brands (Dinar, Temptu) have specialized camouflaging products. I would do a trial with a makeup artist. Be careful, the product used should not "raise" the tattoo but rather provide seamless coverage. You can visit my web site to see a trial that I did with a bride getting married in September. She literally had to scrape the product off of her when she went to wash it off.

    Good Luck!!

I heard that Kat Von D's line of tatto coverup works really well. Trial run first. See if the product has a policy on if it doesn't work.

    Good luck.

If I remember correctly MAC has a spray makeup concealer that can cover a tattoo. Just goggle tattoo cover up makeup. I know there is some out there. You could also ask your fiance that if you cover them for the wedding would it be a fair trade for you to have them uncovered for the reception. That way if you are wanting them showing then you can both be happy. I hope this helps.

Try this site www.tattoo-cover.co.uk I just got my order in the post yesterday, have just had time to try the camo makeup set they sell and its amazing. I onlu used the 2 colours out of the wheel, but never mind it wasn't such a waste can give the rest to a friend who has darker skin than me. I liked the spray I got with it, it certainly keeps the makeup on. Powder was good quality and easy to apply. Bit tricky to get it on my right arm though as I am right handed..

Well pleased with results, can't even see where my tat was now..Yay! Smiley smile

I have a lot of tattoos and some of my family members do not approve. When they decided they wanted me to be in a family photo they paid to have me airbrushed. It works!! It also makes your skin look FLAWLESS!

There is a product by Ben Nye called a Tattoo Wheel used to cover up tattoos for stage actors. I've used it many times and it has several colors so that you can blend it to your own. I think it ranges in the $10-$15 range and you can still use it with your other makeup. You can get it here: http://stageandtheatermakeup.com/bnnc.htm

Kind of ironic that Kat Von D has a coverup.

Ask your photographer! They typically can offer some suggestions on how to hide any type of blemishes or tatts. Myself, I recommend to my brides that a dry powder foundation matching your skin tone layered until it covers is the best route. It will not come off on your dress and it will cover better as you move and persperation starts. Good luck to you and your groom.

I work at sophora (make up store) and Kat Von D had a tube of tat cover up that i just tested out on my brides maid... they have samples so you can go in there and try it first and make sure it really does the trick... PLUS its pretty cheap toooooo. sophora can be a stand alone store or inside a jcpenny if you dont know where to locate it at. GOOD LUCK!
