Tattoo cover up

FBTB2017, on October 3, 2016 at 4:05 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 17

Hi everyone.

I'm in a friends wedding this coming Saturday and I have a tight budget so I wanted to cover up my own tattoo on my back instead of paying for someone to do it.

Have any of you tried? What did you use? I have 3 colored stars. Just outlines.

I hear great things about Kat VOn D's lock it foundation and concealer as they are very full coverage and can cover a tattoo. You can also set it with a translucent powder so it won't rub off.

^ USE KAT VON D GURL. It'll take a couple coats but it's hardcore and gets the job done. For best luck add a layer of her lock it powder foundation on top of the liquid and concealer

I SWEAR by Dermablend!! Leg and body cover up. I used it in all my pageants and used it to cover my foot tattoo everyday at my work. The video speaks for itself. It is the best out there. The lock it foundation is a good second option, but I much prefer the Dermablend for more coverage. You can get it at Ulta. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=op1VYbAGEEk

Definitely KatVonD. I did a trial run with both DermaBlend and KVD - the DermaBlend color matched better, but transfered. KVD didn't transfer at all.

I have a tattoo on my back that I am getting removed for the wedding. I used to have to cover it up for pageants. I used Dermablend and it worked well. You can buy it at Ulta.

I had the same issue MrsMcpherson- dermablend rubbed off on everything. Did you use their finishing powder or just the makeup?

Aside from Kat Von D's, I heard Makeup Forever works well too and perhaps using a waterproof concealer.

I'm an actor and have to cover my small black wrist tattoo often. I've tried almost everything and I honestly have found the most cost effective way to is buy a cheap concealer stick from a drugstore that is one shade lighter than you are. I then layer my pressed powder I use on my face on top. Repeat the steps about 3 times and bring the stuff to touch up halfway through the night if necessary!

Let me know if something else works well for you!

Is she making you hide them ? Tattoos are beautiful and could not ask my bridesmaids to cover up their tats. However David's bridal has tattoo cover kits for $20! Smiley smile

I had to cover a tattoo on my navel when I worked in Greece (long story ). Dermablend worked awesome for me and I still had to scrub to get it off afterwards.

I tried to cover up mine for a friend's wedding. I used glamoflauge. Thought I matched my skin tone perfectly. Day of the wedding-it looked like the perfect cover up in the room I was in. You couldn't see the tattoo at all (it is big and dark). I went to leave for the wedding and walked out into the sun, and bam...there was this big discoloration on my arm. The different light showed the difference in color. I went in and washed it off and just had my tattoo showing.

If it is important to you to cover, I highly recommend going and having it professionally airbrushed over.

MAC makes waterproof and amuse proof foundation. They're really helpful too
