Tattoo Vendor

We already wanted to get our wedding rings tattooed on ( not necessarily during the wedding). Our tattoo artist said that she would love to come and set up as a vendor and tattoo whoever wanted one at the wedding. Our tattoo artist said that she would love to come and set up as a vendor and tattoo whoever wanted one at the wedding. We're kind of on the fence right now but my husband wanted me to ask what people think of the idea. So If you went to a wedding and they had a tattoo vendor what would you think?

I am not sure how I feel about this. I’m all for tattoos, I have 3 myself, but I just couldn’t do this. I wouldn’t ever think of letting some random person- I understand she is a professional- tattoo me, especially outside of a shop. The logistics seem like a nightmare, payment, tips, keeping a sterile environment, etc.

If you like the idea of it what about finding someone who does henna?

We’re also getting wedding band tattoos. My fiancé has a sleeve and I have 2 sleeves. And a lot of our friends are heavily tattooed.

But I don’t think I’d be interested in getting a tattoo at a wedding. It’s not what’s on my mind attending a wedding. Also, if you’re having an open bar, mixing booze and a tattoo artist may not be a great idea. And while I would be excited to attend a friend’s wedding, I wouldn’t want a tattoo to memorialize their wedding. Like, I’m having a hard enough time pick a ring tattoo for my further husband! Haha!

I’m not against it, it’s your wedding. I just don’t think it’s something I would be interested in. Also, even if the tattoo only took 5 minutes, she would still need probably 30 min in between each one for clean up & setup.

Agreeing with PPs- as someone with tattoos, it seems like a cool idea but I wouldn't go to a wedding and get tattooed. I feel like it would be a random thing that I put zero thought into. In general I think tattooed rings are an awesome idea but it's just not the time or place or environment yo do it at a wedding. You dont wanna run the risk of (1) getting ink on your dress or (2) having an issue with bleeding if you're drinking among many other possible negative outcomes.

Attached is my FH tattoo he just got for me on his ring finger since he can't wear a ring at work either. I'm obsessed with it !

At the wedding seems like it would take guests time away from enjoying your company, meal, etc. I like the idea of a group tattoo thing for close friends, what about doing something like that at the bachelor/bachelorette party? Hygiene, tip, and etc figured out. Good luck and congratulations on your special day!

Wow, this is a really unique idea! This could be a tricky vendor to incorporate though, as guests will not have a great deal of motivation to get tattooed in a wedding setting! This is a personal decision that comes with a lot of liability and personal hygienic concerns, so this is something you should carefully consider!

This is weird. I don't think impulsiveness paired with drinking and getting something permanent should be at a wedding. Photos from a photobooth? favors for people to take home? THIS would be a HARD pass for me, and I have tattoos and I have spent many long hours and time deliberating over my tattoos. IF you have an edgy crew this may be neat, but I wouldn't do this, and don't think it's a good idea.

I’m imagining the states of undress I’ve had to be in to get a tattoo normally and the body fluids that come with it. No way I’m doing that at a wedding, with a stranger doing the work. I think a paid service doesn’t belong at a wedding.

I love this! I'm apparently in the minority here, but I think assuming you know your crowd and they would like it, it would be totally awesome.

I would totally get a little tattoo at a wedding, not necessarily to commemorate the wedding, or the couples initials or anything. But something pretty.

She said it would have to fit her wedding theme and take 5-10 minutes. That's pretty slim pickings, and you aren't likely to get anything pretty.

Oh I love it! I've seen a video on Facebook of a guy who does it and thought it was so neat! Me and my fiance have multiple tattoos and would definitely get one at a wedding. I say go for it! Something different and uniqueSmiley smile

I think it is an interesting and very unique party favor to offer. I think I would do this on a Friday the 13th pr Halloween wedding. Do you, but understand unconventional ideas may get push back from the "normal folks" embrace being unique!

I am assuming the bride and groom are paying for this favor then? My pushback is that you shouldn’t be selling stuff at your wedding.

It's a neat idea but tattoos take a long time so not everyone may be able to get their chance. Some people may drink too much and have regrets in the morning too.

I would think the couple was trying way too hard to have something different at their wedding.

I wouldn’t want to get a tattoo at a wedding because I want to enjoy the wedding. You really are not supposed to drink at ALL the day you get a tattoo because it can effect the healing process. It’s a cute idea and it’s definitely a know your crowd thing, but I wouldn’t want to do it just because I’m really particular about my tattoo artist, and I am really careful about properly caring for my tattoo once it’s wrapped up. So drinking and dancing and wedding reception stuff isn’t really conducive to that.

    Hi Spooky Bride!

I just wanted to check in and see how the wedding planning is coming along! Did you end up booking a tattoo vendor? What other vendors have you booked so far? I'd love to hear all about your planning!

I was thinking of having an artist do quick tattoos on my fiancé and I as a unity thing. Just like a quick heart or something. I don't think this is weird or crazy. Some people are just uppidy.
