Tattooed wedding ring

Monique, on July 25, 2019 at 12:14 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 27
So my fh cannot wear his ring or any jewelry for that matter at his job. When we get married he will only be able to wear it at home or on his days off. We talked today about him getting a tattooed ring so that way when he is at work he can still have something on his finger in a way. He found one he likes but he would want me to do it as well. I am able to wear my ring all the time. Would it be weird to get it on another finger? Maybe my pinky or my middle finger? I feel like it doesn’t make much sense for me to get it on my ring finger if it would just be covered up all of the time by my actual wedding ring.

It's not weird if it's what you both want. Can FH wear a silicone ring at work? It could be an option for a work wedding band.

You could still get your tattoos on your ring finger. Are you concerned about covering the tattoo with your ring or the ring and tatoo clashing?

I think I’m more concerned about it being covered. Why spend the money for it to be covered? Does that make sense?

Don't get a tattoo unless you 100% want it, especially one that will be in your line of sight a lot. I'm not a tattoo hater. I have 4 and no regrets. Just don't feel you have to because he is.

That makes sense. Do you think you could do it for your husband since he can't wear any jewelry at work?

I dont have any tattoos currently but I would not have a problem with getting it. I just am not sure about it being on my ring finger since I can wear my ring all the time. It would be covered.

I think its a sweet idea. I would also keep in mind that if you get any tattoos on your finger, there is a chance of it not lasting as long as you think because it could be worn off, especially wearing a ring over it. I'd do yours on an area that you are going to know what it means even if it isn't necessarily on your finger.

Oh, cuz I was gonna say you could put it on the inside (palm side) of your left ring finger. Or you could do it on your right ring finger.

I have a tattoo on my ring finger and I think it adds a little more design to it! I love my tattoo and ring combo. (: I say do it! It’s beneficial to you both and will make life a bit easier!

Maybe do the tattoo on the ring finger on your right hand?

My fiance and I would like to do this. While my job is mostly office based the time where it is not it's better for me not to have any jewelery so I was going to put a simple design under my ring and that way the ring is the focus but when I don't have it on the tattoo is.
My husband does more hands on work, he's allowed jewelery but just can't justify risking the finger or ring.
Is your husband a welder or machinist by any chance?

I get that you might not want to do it on your left ring finger, since it will be covered. But I think if you are getting it to match his you should get it on your ring finger because that's what it symbolizes. You both know it will be there whether you see it or not.

I don't think him (or both y'all) getting a the tattoo is weird, but I do think it'd be weird to get it on a different finger than your wedding ring finger. To me, it wouldn't hold the same meaning or serve the same purpose. Can your FH wear a silicone ring to work? My husband is a heavy equipment mechanic and can't wear jewelry either, but he has a silicone ring he wears.
