So my fh cannot wear his ring or any jewelry for that matter at his job. When we get married he will only be able to wear it at home or on his days off. We talked today about him getting a tattooed ring so that way when he is at work he can still have something on his finger in a way. He found one he likes but he would want me to do it as well. I am able to wear my ring all the time. Would it be weird to get it on another finger? Maybe my pinky or my middle finger? I feel like it doesn’t make much sense for me to get it on my ring finger if it would just be covered up all of the time by my actual wedding ring.

Finger rings fade very quickly, especially if it is under your ring all the time. I think if you are planning on wearing a real ring all the time, I wouldn't put the tattoo on another finger, instead maybe your wrist. It's just a lot less upkeep, with finger tattoos you really have to be committed to getting it touched up a lot. The best reason to do it on your finger would be to do it on your ring finger, which I think would be awesome and meaningful if you're down to touch it up and don't mind not seeing it, but it sounds like you aren't, so I'd go with wrist on your left hand instead. Talk to your artist! They will steer you in the right direction. This is a really nice ring tattoo! I love that one! A lot easier to keep up with than a lot I have seen, but still so lovely!

I’m thinking of doing it below my knuckle. My ring with the wrap covers the majority of the top of my ring finger

He is not. I actually find it odd that they do not allow him to wear anything.

No silicone ring allowed either. That was our first thought.

I get not being able to wear jewelry, it's usually a safety issue as opposed to a visual issue. My FH wants to get a ring tattoo for when he goes to work or goes shooting, (plus then he can't ever just take it off Smiley winking His words, not mine). I think the tattoo idea is great, and the one you posted is really cool. It's different. In some cultures the ring is worn on the right hand instead of the left. Perhaps you could get the tattoo on your right ring finger?

I would get it on the inner part of your finger that way it doesn't interfere with your ring !
