Tea bag wedding favors?

Mr&Mrs89, on November 25, 2016 at 9:39 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 19

Hi fellow brides! Happy Friday! so I'm debating on doing custom prepackaged tea bags or DIY tea bag favors (I'll buy bags and buy bulk tea bags and put 2-3 tea bags in it). So far I'm thinking customed prepackaged tea bag is cheaper ($125 with labels & tea), where as its 100-200 just for bags.

Did anyone do tea bag favors ? How did you do it?

We considered doing blooming jasmine green tea, and would have packaged them nicely myself, but we didn't think most would realize they're meant to be seen and it would have been lost on people. Smiley sad

Is tea popular amongst your crowd? I'm one of the only ones of mine who drink it.

My theme is vintage tea party so to keep with theme I want to do tea bags. I'm sure not everyone likes tea. Just like not everyone like coffee, chocolate. So guess I can't go with what everyone wants, I'll just go with what I think be good. To many people (120-150) to worry about them liking a favor that most probably throw out. That's the other issue why debating on how to do favors cause I know people throw them out.

If you anticipate that most of them will get thrown away why not skip them?

You can skip them? I thought you were "suppose" to do favors. Has anyone ever went to a wedding with no favors?

We had favors, but we went to a wedding over the summer with no favors and I honestly didn't even notice at the time. I would love the tea but it's definitely a "know your crowd" type of thing

I have been to a ton of weddings without favors. No one notices and no one cares. Favors are absolutely just an extra thing if you want to do it, not necessary at all.

Out of the three weddings I went to this fall only one had favors. You can definitely skip them.

I am. My cousin made the tea bag sleeve with a customised messAge. She's super crafty and I'm not sure how she did this. I'll post pics later as I'm not home

Favors, especially if you think most of the guests won't use them, arent necessary.

Our only favor is going to be yarlmulkes which kind of doesn't feel like a favor. Just have a fun day with good food/booze/music!

I had not seen tea bags as favors until a wedding that I shot last year. I thought this was a really neat idea.

The couple pre-packaged them in baskets near the entrance to the reception hall for their guests to pick up. I really liked the cute sign that they made.

I didn't notice if they had any tea served later in the wedding, but it may be a nice idea to have hot water and tea cups available for later in the night.

I order some really cute custom stickers off Etsy for seed bags. And got envelops. And tied ribbon on them. Super cute. The stickers were like 35.00 for 50. And the envelopes were 25.00. The stickers were custom so I put their names and their colors for flowers on them. They were awesome

I love the idea of tea bags for wedding favors. I am a tea drinker so I would use it. Matches your theme which is a bonus. However I am skipping favors, been to many weddings without them and preferred it because I didn't feel obligated to take a gift I would rather not have. That said if you think your guests would mostly toss them save the money and use it for something else Smiley smile

I'm a tea junkie and this is such a cute idea! I'm not doing any favors tho. I know anytime I've gone to a wedding most of the favors just get tossed. Unless it's candy or something like this I could see it being used. I just don't want to waste any more $$!

I am having a Mad Hatters Tea Reception and each guest gets to take home a place setting. small plate, saucer, and tea cup. They are all mix and match.
