Tealength wedding dresses? Opinions?

** Christina Q! **, on April 17, 2013 at 8:01 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 78

So I'll be honest, I had never even heard of a tealength dress, let alone thought that any women got married in dresses that weren't long. But somebody mentioned in one of my posts that she thought I'd look great in a tealength dress cause of my body type in pics I had posted(pics in my profile). I looked up some and I think theyre gorgeous, but I'm not so sure I'd pick it over a classic gown. What do you all think? Here's some that I found real quick that I like!

If I had your legs I would show them off. Even if it was a reception dress. Then again your whole shape I would show off.

I really think they fit women who are free spirited, quirky, and non traditional. I've seen some super adorable tea length wedding dresses.

I almost bought one, I am having a beach/informal wedding. But, I am 5'4 and they made me look shorter. I think tea length is beautiful! I'd say go for it!

Have you been in to try on any dresses yet? Just looking at dresses online will make it difficult to make a decision. There are literally 1000s of choices.

I think tea length dresses are adorable, however I also think that it is a tough length for the majority of girls to pull off. I know I can't.

You have some amazing legs, so I would at least try a few on when you dress shop. You never know. You might not be able to envision yourself in it, but when you try dresses on it's completely different. No matter what you will be beautiful Smiley smile

If we blinged up or gussy'ed up 5 - I think that would be great! I really like #6 a lot! You need to show off those gorgeous legs!

I tried one on but it wasn't for me. I love them though. I especially love them with a colored crinoline popping out. So cute.

I think the ones that are just below the knee are the most flattering. I think with your legs you could pull any of them off. If when you try dresses on you still don't feel it completely than don't go for it, but always best to go into dress appointments with an open mind.

Some gals have a long dress for their ceremony and change into a shorter dress (ie. the tea length ones you have posted) later on in the reception!

@Danielle C. - COOL! i didnt know that. I totally want to do that, cause I think these are absolutely gorgeous and I'm sure are way easier to dance and move in at the reception! Are they expensive like regular gowns?

    You could definitely rock it!

Consider the type of wedding you are envisioning. Something formal and classic? A longer dress may be more fitting. A quirky, 50's inspired feel? Rock that shorter dress! Smiley smile

@Christina - I think with all dresses... if you shop around you can make it work within your budget - whatever that might be. I have a long dress that I plan on wearing for most of the wedding but anticipate that I will get quite hot towards the end of the night with the dancing and the rest of the festivities so I bought a shorter dress to change in to. It's a cute shorter fitted lace dress and it only cost me $30 Smiley smile
