Team no thigh gap - Legs rubbing together??

Courtney, on January 15, 2016 at 12:36 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 40

For those of you who are like me and struggle with the size of your thighs, is there anything you recommend to help with your legs rubbing together under your wedding dress? My wedding is in June, I have a long dress with many layers, and our wedding/receptions will be a total of 6+ hours in a dress (debating changing into a reception dress, not sure though). My legs will be burning up all night, sweating, and rubbing together.

In the past any time I have had to wear a dress (I hate dresses haha), I have worn spandex shorts under every dress to stop my thighs from rubbing together and driving me insane, causing a rash (I know I'm not the only one). That probably won't be very cute for under my wedding dress though haha, so does anyone have any advice on ways to prevent or at least help? Obviously I am losing weight and working out but it doesn't make a difference with my thighs, they will still be touching and rubbing together in 5 months.

I think I put deodorant there but a lot of people recommend body glide. I was just lazy and never bought it.

    1) I don't think thigh gap

Is a real thing I think it is perpetuated by the media 2) girl I feel ya! Chub rub fo sho I would wear spanx that cover the tummy and the thighs. I've also heard of people putting fans under the brides table at dinner to go under the skirt. I've never seen it though.

Monistat does! It's anti-chafing gel or something like that. It's awesome! Thunder and lightening, though?! lol Love it.

I'm using spanx to deal with the same issue. But in the past I've used Balmex. Worked wonders!

Shapewear! My dress is an a-line so I'm either doing that or simply wearing hose.

Body glide! They sell it on amazon or at your local running store.

I have to wear shorts when I run in the summer and for my long races I find I chaff and rub inbetween my legs. I now use body glide right were my legs would rub together where I run and it solves the problem! No more raw, rubbed leg skin that burns.

    I swear by it!

Also thigh gap is based a lot on your bone structure... I'm a size 0/2 and my legs rub together.

I typically wear spanx to avoid the thigh rub, but I am tempted to try the bodyglide stuff!

The Monistat anti-chafe is amazing. I have ginormous thighs and wore a mermaid dress (great combination, right?) and I wouldn't have been able to walk without it.

I had planned on wearing spanx but they were too hot.

I haven't decided if I'm going to wear some shorts or if I'm going to find another solution. I could body powder the hell out of it, but that comes off after a while and would need to be re-applied. I'll have to check out the body glide thing, or the deo.

    Love the Meme!!

This is what I use. You can get it at any CVS/Walgreens/Walmart. It works great and is super cheap.

I've used the monistat cream and it's great. My runner friends say body glide is the way to go, but I don't run lol

When I had larger thighs (that rubbed together all the time--to the point where I never wore anything but pants so I wouldn't chafe), I always wore long spanx (kinda like spandex shorts, I guess, but in flesh tone) while social dancing (lindy hop, so a lot of movement and a lot of sweat). They were pretty sweaty at the end of the night, but I was chafe-free. And no one is going to be looking under your dress (until you get to the hotel room, at which point I guess you'd shower, or your groom won't care.

The lady at the store where I bought my dress recommended bandalettes. They're like wider garters that you wear up high on your thighs. She swears they stay up and work wonderfully!

I used deodorant. Apply liberally and let it dry before you move. lol

I also wore longer panties (foxers) that helped with the very top.
