Tee shirts for our guests

Nicole, on March 11, 2010 at 8:45 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 18

I want to get tee shirts for our guests to wear while at our destination wedding. I don't know if people will be comfortable wearing our names and date of wedding. Can anyone give me ideas for a tee shirt every one can wear to be apart of our wedding but isn't corny

How about Nicole and Mr. X's Destination Wedding 2010 with a picture of the resort rather than a picture of the two of you. It won't be tacky and will set them apart from other guests. I see no reason why they would be uncomfortable either considering the picture you are using will not be anything lovey dovey.

I usually buy some new outfits when I go on vacation and really look forward to wearing them. I don't think I'd be too thrilled if someone gave me a tee shirt to wear.

Your guests may be different than me but I think you could spend your money elsewhere. Maybe on welcome bags or something?

If you really want to make shirts, though ... maybe just two hearts together with the date?

Maybe I am weird but I would totally wear a t-shirt with your names and wedding date on it. Especially if its a destination wedding. I would also add the destination name on there and I would not put a picture on there. Everyone loves t-shirts and souvenirs. I have many t-shirts from local businesses that I wear all the time. Its practically the same thing. I love the idea.

I think it would be a really nice touch. Are you thinking about putting them in the welcome bags? While @Tracey is right, I think that if you did a tank for the girls and a light weight T for the guys something that they can wear while they are heading down to the pool or something. I think if you did something small over the left chest like- Destination (Your Island Name Here) and the week/dates that the wedding events are taking place would be nice with maybe palm trees or something like two hearts but just the outlines like they are in the sand or something. Subtle but a nice reminder.

Or you could do welcome bags that could double as beach/poolside tote bags with your date or monogram on them. That way you don't have to worry about sizes and you can prob just give one per couple.

What specifically are the guests supposed to wear the tshirts to? Like a welcome party or the actual wedding? I'm with Tracey I wouldn't be too thrilled about the idea of wearing somebody else's name on my clothes. I also personally detest tshirts b/c they don't fit me. I wear tshirts to bed.

What about beach towels with just the date on them? I need to get on that "welcome" bag thing, I've been procrastinating...

I love Lora ideal with the destination wedding as a sovenior with the welcome bag. I would wear to the wedding but maybe a dinner together. I purchased my bridal party tshirts which will be worn at my shower!

To be totally honest, I would not get much use out of a shirt with someone else's name on it. I think t-shirts should be for the bridal party only, as they will be into wearing them, and you can include their title. I agree with the pp's though, get some nice tote bags and put your wedding logo on them (you can have iron on decals made inexpensively) and fill them with welcome items. Everyone needs a beach bag!

How about hats? I like the beach towels too but where can I get them for a good price? I have 60 people coming and the zazzle site cost 1,000 for hats. Sad they are so cuteSmiley sad any other suggestions? Maybe just do snacks and water?

What about a t-shirt that is just from the destination (i.e. an I *heart* NY shirt for an NYC wedding, a shirt with the name of the island or beach, etc.). I know I have a few shirts I've gotten on vacation and when I wear them i remember the fun I had...so hopefully your guests will wear them and remember the fun they had at your wedding!

I am getting married in NYC and I'll give "I Love NY" t-shirts to my out of town guests.

I am getting married in the Bahamas and will be giving out those popular shirts that say "It's better in the Bahamas" as part of their welcome bags. Maybe instead of putting your names you can just put something on the shirt that signifies the place your getting married. Or you can make up shirts that say "I survived ___ and ___ wedding" I've seen them before they're very cute.

Also, I don't know if you've sent out your invitations yet but on our RSVP cards we put a spot for shirt and sandal sizes so that we can make sure our guests get the perfect fit. We will be giving out Haveanna sandals as well. Good luck!

Try customink.com. I've found (through work) that for quantities under 100 you can usually get a pretty good price.
