Teeth whitening?!

Megan, on July 24, 2019 at 3:35 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 21
So I’m wanting to hear what others have done when it comes to teeth whitening before the wedding.
did you? Did you not? Did you regret it either way?

If you did it, how & where?
I’m considering it because I know photos will show my not bad/not great teeth. 😬

Thanks!! Smiley smile

I bought the professional crest white strips and started using them this week. I feel like I've already seen a slight difference but will use them for the entire month and see Smiley winking

I use those as well! Got them on Amazon for a good price. They are awesome! I asked my dentist about her professional whitening services and even she told me just to use crest white strips. They have made a huge difference! Only thing, if you have sensitive teeth they can be a pain. I have sensitive teeth, and it doesn't hurt while I am using them but if I use them daily, after a few days my teeth will start feeling extra sensitive and uncomfortable until a take a break from them. So I try to use them once or twice a week instead.

Im not close enough to think about teeth yet but my dentist noticed my engagement ring and said crest strips will whiten but not ruin your enamel if you do them a few weeks before the wedding.

If you want them very white very fast, going to your dentist is best. That’s what I did before taking my engagement photos. Plus they gave me a tube & molds to touch up myself until my wedding.
It was a bit more expensive but it’s lasted much better than crest white strips ever did.
    To each their own though.

I’ve picked up the whitening gel from my dentist. It’s so powerful! I’ll use it twice a week until I get my desired results then probably up it a month out from the wedding. Good luck!

I think it also depends on your mouth. If you have any crowns, you can't use whitening strips. That's going to be my situation, so I will be going to the dentist to get my teeth whitened next year. they have specific ways to do it for people with crowns so they don't get damaged.

I have more than a year until I get married, so I’ve been using a charcoal toothpaste. It’s actually been working, gradually. And I like it more than Crest strips (I have sensitive teeth). I’ve noticed a difference within the last four weeks or so

I use the crest white strips before an event and crest 3D toothpaste daily. I use the white strips every other day instead of every day because they can hurt.

I did oil pulling with coconut oil! I don’t have a before and after picture, but I feel like it worked very well.
Just a spoon full of the oil. Swish it around in your mouth (the articles i read suggest 20 minutes, yikes!). I usually do around 10 minutes, I had to build up to that.

I started to do it a few months before the wedding, but on the second or third night I think I left the tray in too long and actually burned my gums! Make sure you follow the directions to the letter.

My dentist recommended Crest white strips for me. Also, I’m glad I saw this post... reminds me to buy them since the wedding is coming up! Lol

I've used the white strips and they do work, but for me they caused extreme sensitivity. Even cold air from breathing hurt my teeth. So definitely try it out asap so you'll know weather or not you should whiten close to your wedding.

Good point! I just figured I would get opinions from others if they whitened and if it’s worth my time! Lol.
