Teeth whitening

Amy, on October 19, 2018 at 12:37 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 26
Any advice on the best over the counter teeth whitening, I would like to whiten my teeth some but don’t want to spend a fortune either. Wedding isn’t until June 2019.

You could also check out Groupon and see what deals they may have.

I’ve been using a charcoal tooth paste I got at Target. So far, so good!

Opalescence whitening gel, you can find it on Amazon. I wouldn't suggest anything over the 20% concentration. I've read reviews on the 35% concentration, and while it does work, it can be painful if you get it on your gums

I got crest whitestrips and I have been really happy with the results. I use the “glamorous white”. My last box I got from Costco.

Hi! I am a dentist. I recommend Crest white strips to my patients. If you need faster results, you can go to your dentist and have him or her make you a retainer/tray and some bleach solution. That will be a bit stronger. Good luck!

Crest White strips (they have a sensitive teeth version you wear for less time). My hubby went to the dentist years ago for a whitening treatment & he swears that made his teeth brittle (front tooth chipped within 6 months).

Oil pulling is healthy but I haven’t done consistently to know how much it can whiten your teeth.

Good makeup helps too. I have brown eyes, palish olive skin & blondish brown hair. If I don’t wear any makeup or keep everything too nude it makes my teeth seem more yellow cuz my natural coloring is bland & pale. With stronger color, my teeth look whiter. Smiley smile

I make a DIY (super cheap) teeth whitening paste and it's worked wonders! My cousin is a dentist, so when I sent this recipe to her she told me she's used it and it works well! I brush my teeth with regular toothpaste first to get them clean then do this solution.

Mix a little toothpaste with 1 teaspoon of baking soda, 1 teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide, and half of a teaspoon of water. I mix it up and dip my tooth brush in it then I brush my teeth like normal. I brush for about 2 minutes or so and make sure I use as much of the solution as possible, dipping my brush back in a few times.

I do it before bed and I wake noticing my teeth are a little whiter each time! They recommend you do this 2ish times a week until you reach desired whiteness and then once a month to maintain after that. Try not to do it too much, though, because baking soda isn't great for the enamel of your teeth.

My dentist told me not to use any of the "whitening" toothpastes because it strips your enamel which can never be replaced. I use a tray and whitening gel that I purchase on Amazon to whiten my teeth. I use the 15% strength because my teeth are sensitive. My DH uses the Crest strips which also work great.

Throwing this out there since no one else seems to have mentioned it - activated charcoal powder! Both of us have been using it for a month or two now, and it has worked wonders to lift some old stains! We brush with it once a day at night before we brush our teeth with our usual toothpaste, and it has been great! He has very sensitive teeth, and the strips always annoy me because they don't seem to stick well, so this has been a great option for us Smiley smile It's also way more affordable than the strips - you can get a jar on Amazon for less than $15 and we've hardly made a dent in ours so far!

I used Crest Whitestrips for sensitive teeth. It did make a difference, and I used them every other day. My dentist also prescribed fluoride toothpaste (the heavy duty stuff apparently) to help combat the sensitivities that may have derived from the white strips. I started that about two weeks before the wedding. I had no issues!

Crest 3D Whitestrips! They usually have them cheaper at places like Sams Club.

I use Crest white strips. Walmart has a $40 box and you do them 1 hour a day for a week. So worth the money!

I’ve definitely heard crest white strips are the way to go, but I saw a few mention charcoal toothpaste, would it be safe to do both?
