Teeth Whitening

Simone, on June 24, 2019 at 12:18 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 9
Hi Ladies,

Have any of you done/are doing teeth whitening before the big day? I tried Crest whitestrips once several years ago and they were just too unwieldy, but maybe I'll give them another go. I can't afford professional whitening, but I'm sure there's probably another option (maybe the whitening kits in which you use a tray?). I'm curious to know your recommendations....

I have been using Crest 3D Brilliance and I noticed a difference within a week! It’s a two part toothpaste, and it tastes minty but I will say it also made my teeth a little bit more sensitive so instead of doing that 2x per day, I do that once and a normal toothpaste the other time.

Try Groupon/look around. I got a deal for $10 on Groupon but even without it a lot of places have monthly or new timer specials for cheap.

Crest white strips work great for us. Give them a few tries. Don’t do Zoom treatments, my hubby did before his first wedding and said his teeth got brittle and his front tooth chipped off during his honeymoon. ☹️ Poor guy!

I like the crest white strips but I use them every other day instead of every day about 10-14 days before an event

My dentist actually said the crest strips work best. I asked them about it. They also said don't do it more than a month before and stop if it makes your teeth sensitive

I'm doing white strips. My fiance uses Arm & Hammer whitening toothpaste, a whitening mouth wash, flosses daily, and uses the Luster Whitening System from Walmart ($45).

It came up last time I was at the dentist that I was getting married this fall (the hygienist saw my ring and asked me) and it turns out they give a free set of whitening trays to anyone getting married. They told me to come back a few weeks before for impressions and I'll use the tray for the two weeks leading up to it. Maybe you could see if your dentist has any option like this? Just the trays and enough gel for a few weeks shouldn't cost too much. I have also used the Carbon Coco powder and it does work well but I wasn't consistent with it. I plan to start that up for the month leading up to the trays as well for the best results. My only advice that is to buy a Water Pik (Walmart has a cheap knock-off) because the black powder gets stuck everywhere so I'm able to spray it out using that.
