Tell me about silicon rings

Laura, on August 7, 2019 at 7:22 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 17
Obviously we don’t want to wear our regular rings all the time on our honeymoon cruise. But I’m having a hard time wading through all the different options in silicon rings. Where did you get yours? What’s a decent price range? Are they all basically the same or are there substantial differences?
In short, help!

My friend's husband wears them because of work. I don't know the brand, but he bought a bulk pack off Amazon for like $5. He said they're pretty resilient.

We’ve invested the $20-$25 in the “higher end” silicone rings like Qalo and Enso and they were fine. We both currently have multi packs of some generic brand from Amazon and I can’t tell the difference. Mine came with 8 rings for $13 and my FW’s (men’s) rings were 7 for $13. I definitely wouldn’t spend $20 on a single ring again.

I got one for my FH from Enso. Obviously he hasn't worn it yet so I don't know about how well it lasts but it looks nice and the price was reasonable. Enso is around $40. I've seen places that are cheaper but that's a decent price. Qalo is also a known brand. I work at a gym and a lot of the trainers wear silicone rings and they love them!

Idk about the different brands or quality when it comes to silicone rings, but I did see a pack of 5 at Walmsrt for under $10.

We have about 40 of these all over our house because we kept buying 10 packs on Amazon and losing them. Oops 😬

I think the Enso rings are worth the extra price compared to the cheaper amazon ones. My enso ring fits better, looks better and is overall better quality. For comparison, the gray one is a cheap amazon one (3 for 10 or something) and the purple shiny one is an Enso birthstone thin ring. So I would wait for a sale and get one to save some money.

My fiancé got a pack of 4 on amazon for like $9. I only switch it out with my real ring when I go to the beach or gym. They’re perfect for the beach and gym!

I got an Enso ring when my engagement ring had to be at the jewelers for over a month, and liked it enough to get different ones for both FH and I for the future. I chose Enso because I have teeny fingers and wear a 4.5, and silicone rings only come in full sizes. My gut reaction was to size down to a 4 because I didn't want it to come off, but all the other brands said to size up. Enso recommended sizing down because you don't want it to fall off and it would stretch a little over time. They matched my gut reaction, so I went with it.

I got a cheap ring on Amazon, and have had no issues with it! I plan on looking for a Groove ring for FH, since he can't wear a traditional metal band while at work, and he doesn't want to destroy his nice wedding band anyways!

I got a Qalo ring almost a year and a half ago and its still in perfect condition. I play softball 2 nights a week in the summer and fall, ice hockey 3-4 nights a week in the fall/winter/spring, and try to make it to the gym to lift 3-4 times a week so I wear it a lot and it has taken some pretty hard abuse. Personally, I think the quality is worth the price. It also came with a little zipper pouch to hold it when you aren't wearing it. It has a little clip that you can hook it to a bag or your keys with, I also hook the zipper loop to it just for extra security that it won't pop open. It's also a nice, safe place to store your actual E-ring when you are wearing the silicone one.

I got my fiance's on Staghead Designs (where I got his actual ring too), I think it was around $25? I got mine on Amazon for $7 for a pack of 10. I'll probably order a nicer one and those are around $30. Some are thicker & stronger so they hold up better for sure.

FH got a Qalo which is nice but it has a “Q” on the outside. You can engrave it though! I got an Enso. A lot of options. I got the Loch Ness which is a cool green color, but they have more subtle options too if that’s what you’re looking for

Whoa, information overload. We looked (well, mostly I looked) on Amazon last night and it was a bit frustrating. Such a wide array of sizes, styles and prices. Then FH went on Enso (I think?) and found some nicer looking ones on clearance. But I really wanted purple or blue, and those were few and far between. IF they even had it in my size (if half a size down), since I wear an 11.5. I have mutant hands, I know. I got tired and we tabled it for the night last night. But now that FH is *interested* in it I’m sure it’ll come up again tonight.
    Thanks for all the input!

I bought FH a silicone band from Groove and he loves it. His included a team logo, so it was about $40. I also have a silicone band from Enso Rings that cost about $30. I wanted something thin I could wear when working out! It looks tight in the photo, but it's really not Smiley smile
