Tent Lighting (How much to buy)

Caitlyn, on February 3, 2016 at 9:35 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 4

We are looking to do this kind of lighting with our tent however the company we are renting our tent from doesn't rent these types of lights. We are renting a 40x60 pole tent and my dad is going to help us hang the lights. I need to know how much to buy and if anyone knows where I can get them from without spending a ton of money! Also if anyone has done this and has any pointers or advice i'm open to any kind of help. If anyone knows a good place that rents these and sets them up (I'm around the Houston area) i'm open to that as well!

Thank you!

I would talk to a rental company that deals with lighting. They should be able to tell you, or the people you rented the tent from.

Yes, I would ask the company that you're renting the tent from and see if they have lights that you can rent, too.

I spoke to them and they don't rent these types of lights. That's when my dad decided to take on this task himself.

This person used 320 feet of C7 5-watt globe lights, plus paper lanterns, for a 40' x 120' tent:

The paper lanterns didn't actually light up the area; they were just lit up enough so guests could see them. So the cafe lights were what actually provided the lighting. And we're talking about a string of lights that is equal to the perimeter of the tent (40 plus 40 plus 120 plus 120).

She says that the cheapest place she found them was Hometown Evolution:
