Terms of Endearment

My friends and family always make fun of the fact that FH and I use a term of endearment when we talk to each other, it's not overly creative but we almost always call each other "Babes"; I believe in the past I have gone weeks without actually using FH's name to get his attention. My friends and family always make fun of the fact that FH and I use a term of endearment when we talk to each other, it's not overly creative but we almost always call each other "Babes"; I believe in the past I have gone weeks without actually using FH's name to get his attention. My friends think it's corny, but whatever we both find it sweet.

How do you feel about terms of endearment? Do you and your SO acknowledge each other with a term of endearment, if so what?

He rarely calls me by my name...usually calls me babe or baby. I use his name more often, but will still call him baby a lot of the time. I also call him "Muffin Puff". I posted on his FB page "I love you muffin puff" and some of the guys he works with started calling him muffin puff at work lol

To the world we are Kim and Mike. To each other we are Kimberly and Michael. It feels so strange calling him Mike and vise versa. He also jokingly used to call me "puta" he is white and used to tell people it meant "beautiful flower" and we thought it was funny. Then we flew to California to visit my mom and my family. Well my Mexican mom didn't think it was funny. So it's not a thing anymore. Also, FYI "puta" means bitch in Spanish.

FH calls me "Bear" (cause I woke up late for work one morning and emerged from under the covers like a bear from hibernation) and I call him "babe" or "baba". We are one of those sappy annoying couples who throw around terms of endearment like it's our actual names.

Moose.. it evolved from spouse somehow.

My brother calls me hun bun. He started doing it as an annoying teenager and still does it now. DH will call him "sweet cheeks" in retaliation.

I call him goose. There was a month where he was being extra silly (and extra is saying a lot) where silly goose was said too often and was shortened to goose. He calls me ferret because I love them and they are my spirit animal. People laugh when I call him "dude" but I'm from the coast and call everyone dude lol

My husband works in IT as a systems engineer, so he calls me WiFi (instead of wifey). So I'll say Hubbs, and he'll say Wifi...lol. Dorky I know.

We also call each other Lobster. He has "My Lobster" and our wedding date engraved in his ring.

Although my name is Amanda FH calls me "Margaret" No real reason, not sure where it ever came from but he'll say, you left the water on Margaret. or grab me a cookie/water/beer Margaret. LOL I just call him dear or babe or something to that nature.

We definitely don't use these in public, but he calls me Bunny and I call him Bear. It started it as a joke, but it stuck. When we're at home, we use those far more than our actual names. Wow, typing that was kind of embarrassing.

We also call each other babes. Haha It's weird when we use first names!

I call him "babe" most of the time, which is funny because his name is Beau, so it's not like babe is shorter or anything lol.

He calls me "female". In public. As in "Hey FEMALE, come get your food". He thinks it's funnier than "woman".

We rarely use each other's names. It's generally sweet or honey. If the word please is involved we say please jackass. This came from when we first got together and he never said please. His mommy didn't enforce manners. Sigh. I think terms of endearment are cute.

Usually babe/baby, but occasionally I'll call him Numpy. He had Numerical Python on his computer for work, and it said Numpy on the desktop. I'll also call him ridiculous names to semi-harass/semi-encourage him while rock climbing when he's stuck, like Hopscotch or JumpingJack. He also calls me Jim/James/Billy/something ridiculous when I drive us places, mostly to the gym ("Let's go to the gym, Jim!").

FH calls me "Babe" but it gets confusing when we are hanging out with our friend Dave because he thinks FH is saying Dave, but he is saying Babe. Lol. When I'm being overly dramatic I say "Hey Baby....." with puppy eyes. As a joke Smiley smile But I usually just call him by his name. He rarely calls me Pancakes, but I'm in his cell as Kathy Pancakes and a couple of our friends call me Pancakes.

Normally "babe". I call him "sweetness" with some regularity, and use his name maybe only once a day. When it's just the two of you, there's no real reason to get their attention with it... whenever he actually uses my name I love it though, just because I don't hear it all that often... which is kinda weird...

We call each other "babe", "booba", "beb" and other variations of "babe".

We rarely use each others names, only when talking to other people about each other.

We never use full names unless we're mad at each other or need to get each others attention. We don't have anything specific, usually babe or love
