Terrarium Centerpieces?

Rachel, on July 5, 2018 at 1:39 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 11

Hello!

I know there are lots of pictures on Pinterest of terrarium centerpieces, but we are only thinking of doing 1 tall terrarium per table (to keep costs down). Anyone else out there do the same, and mind sharing inspiration photos?? All of the pictures on Pinterest seem to have 3 per table!

When you say "tall" what do you mean? Keep in mind that all centerpieces, unless they are very narrow like an eiffel tower vase.

If you mean a standard centerpiece height of 12-14" one would be fine. It would be the same size as a lantern. You can add some votives if you like.

Terrariums can be pricey. What do you plan to put in them?

They are between 8" - 10". You're right, we do not have tall ones by typical wedding centerpiece standards!

We were thinking about doing just a glass votive or a pillar candle within the terrarium. I am making grey-blue gauze table runners, and we'll have loose eucalyptus spread around the centerpieces. That's as far as we've gotten. We're thinking about adding some mercury votives as well, but just haven't seen enough pictures to fully "picture" it.

You'll have to test out the scale. A 2 inch votive holder could look pretty lonely in a 10" terrarium. Maybe a short pillar?

Awesome, I like some of those pictures!! Thanks Smiley smile

You're right - a small votive will probably not be large enough. A pillar would look good

What about one like these? These are just from amazon, so no inspiration pics. Use your imagination, but I think they would be better kept simple. They are very affordable!

This is my mock up, I bought the terrariums in hobby lobby online during a sale that they were 50% off.

This is our inspiration pic, but we are doing all different colors. We were really happy to find some 8'' silver terrariums for fifty percent off from world market. Luckily we found them in time...they sold out really quickly after going on sale!

This is a very preliminary mock up of ours. Will have varying candles/candle holders around, and rose petals scattered down the center. I'll also be putting real succulents inside the terrarium
