Hi Ladies,

We moved our May 24th wedding to July 25th. Texas began Phase 1 of reopening on Friday, so I was feeling hopeful until I logged on here. Anyone else in Texas and hoping / planning to move forward? Our guest count is 83 but I suspect we may have restrictions for 50 or less, which we are okay with.

Still need to re-order invitations for new date, but am holding out until mid/late May to see how the reopening goes. I just can't see pushing this out a year and I feel like getting married now and having a wedding later is anti-climatic. Smiley sad . We don't live together and will get married in late July even if we can't have the wedding. If it's 10 people we'll do parents and our kids and us. If guidance is 50 we'll move forward with our venue, etc. as planned with a smaller guest count. I figure we can throw a party once we buy a house for all of those who couldn't come to the wedding.

As is typical, we are not allowed to cancel the wedding, only to postpone.

I'd love to hear from anyone else moving forward this summer, or hopeful about moving forward. This has all been so sad, stressful, and disappointing.

Yes, let's all stay positive and hope for the best. My fiancee and I have continued discussions on this. We definitely will be getting married in July regardless. We REALLY want to have our wedding and a celebration after. We never had any intention of hosting a $20k+ party a year after we are married! We can't cancel our venue, only reschedule. I'm still very concerned about the virus, but it's going to be with us for a quite a while. Life can't be totally shut down forever. Best to All!

Just read this article regarding Texas and summer weddings: https://www.khou.com/article/money/wedding-events-can-resume-in-texas-under-gov-abbotts-latest-orders/285-3a913946-a902-4008-8cfa-3f5c6f71bf35

Looks like they will be allowed under those guidelines. Best of luck to all! Hope we can get some guidelines like this for my state of MD!

Thanks! I talked with our venue owner today and she can do 25 people inside at any one time and the full guest count (83) outside. The table seating will be a challenge but we’ll work that out. Still planning to move forward. Second dress fitting is Friday and we are about to order new invites with 7/25 date. I believe the fall/winter/spring **** will be worse and so we will do the best we can. I hope you all get guidance soon.

We are outside of Dallas! Our wedding is on July 18th and we have decided to keep our date. Even if we are just limited to family members, we still want to get married on our date.

Reading your post helped feel less stress.
My guest count is 60 but our church just informed us that masks are required. I dont know how to feel about that but my husband is thankfull that its only for the mass.

Did you get to have your wedding! Ours is canceled. Moved to 5/15/21 but I’ve got not a lot of hope that it will even go through.
