Text Alignment on Wedding Website

Ruth, on October 28, 2018 at 9:10 PM Posted in Account Support 0 9
Is there a way to change the text alignment on the website? Everything is centered and I feel it is harder to read that way... I don't see a place to change this though.

Sorry if this has been asked already! Thanks for your help!

Hey Ruth. What device are you using to look at your wedding website?

I've looked on my PC (chrome for browser) and on my phone (Galaxy S8 - in app). Both show everything in centered text once I add it.

Hi Ruth! There is no way to change the alignment of the text within the wedding website as it depends on the design that you choose! I recommend that you test out a few of the other designs to see the different options that are available!

Can you tell me which designs do not have centered text on every page? I have yet to find one that doesnt go back to centered text once I refresh the page.

A lot of people don't use the website feather on wedding wire for that very reason, you would think something as simple as centering or un centering text would be corrected so more people would use this feather but guess not.

Right. I ended up going with The Knot because I feel like this should be a bare minimum feature for a website. Disappointing to say the least.

Hi Ruth, have you tried putting <br> at the end of each line? It seems to left align text on the Knot (at least on our website).

I discovered this by accident when trying to fix a related but different issue and I know your pain - I've ended up with an issue on the Knot whereby the venue address now appears twice. Once (but with the wrong details) in the normal themed font (centered) and a second time below and to the left. This is all on the same/main page and I can't get rid of it. This happened as I tried to edit the street address of the venue and for some reason was forced to only accept the Knot's interpretation of some Google search results of the venue's details.

The venue is in Scotland (which everyone knows) but the website now displays the venue name and the street name... and the UK. No town is given nor zip/postal code. All in, incredibly frustrating and their help/customer services function is verrrrrry slow to respond.

    Best of luck!

    Hi Ruth/Douglas,

I'm having the same issue with the left alignment on the Knot but adding the
just adds this as text rather than ending the line for me. Am I doing it wrong? I tried to edit the HTML but didn't have access.

I spoke to customer service and they said this functionality had been removed, when I asked why on earth they would remove this basic functionality they said that it would be reviewed but likely nothing be done about it.

Hope you've had more luck than me!

    Thanks,

    Max

I really wish I'd read these reviews before we bought a custom URL.... hoping I can use it on another site. Not being able to edit placement is nonsense.
