Thank you card addressing tips?

Kristen, on February 23, 2020 at 5:59 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 10

Our STD and invitations are printed from Minted , but we bought way cheaper thank you cards just from amazon ($18 for 100).

We are debating on what to do the addresses (hand write or print).

We've considered getting a return address stamp and handwriting the recipient addresses.

What type of pen or tools are you using for your thank you note addressing ?

Has anyone printed your address? what template did you use?

We have about 80 invitations.

We used artistic labels for return address. Really cheap and good quality. I feel like I would’ve gone crazy rewriting our own address over and over and over... but we just hand wrote the recipient address.

We used a stamp for our STD return addresses - make sure you test it out first to get the hang of it Smiley smile
We then used Avery clear labels for the guest addresses.

I bought a stamp on Etsy. Totally worth it for return address.

Avery labels they work great for addresses you just need to format the list in Excel. You can upload it directly to Avery website put your label in the printer and be done ! For return address labels I ordered a roll from current.com that way I can use them for lots of things after the wedding.

We have a stamp for our return addresses that we used for the invites and thank you cards. My calligraphy skills weren't up to par by the time invite addressing happened so I purchased clear address labels with each of our guests' addresses on them. I got a quantity of 2 so I could use the same label for thank you cards! Made it super simple and there were only a few that had to be handwritten then.

I haven’t tried it yet, but we’re planning on printing directly from our inkjet printer. We did it for our save the dates and it worked really well, but it only worked because our printer has the back feed instead of front one

We used a return stamp for our invites and had a friend that does calligraphy hand address them. For the RSVP's we used the same stamp!

I'm sure we will re-use the stamp for thank yous.

So far I've written out addresses for all of my cards, and it really isn't as bad as I thought it would be. For 85 save-the-dates, it took me a little over an hour to write everything and I only messed up once to the point that I needed a new envelope. So in hindsight, I think this was a quickest and cheapest way to go about it, and I plan on doing the same for the invites and thank you cards.
