Thank You Notes

Lex, on September 8, 2019 at 2:42 PM Posted in Married Life 0 14
I know it’s customary to send out thank you notes right after the wedding, but the way my life is set up right now, is it okay to do them later?
We are suddenly having to move out of our house and I don’t want to send out the notes and then risk them getting sent back to the old address. Is it okay to wait til we move (no more than a month from now) to send them out? Should I wait until we get our professional pictures back?
Also where did you get your cards, I’m looking for a low cost option here lol.

I think if you can send them within a month that’s fine. We got cards printed with a picture from Zazzle and with a coupon they were not expensive.

Etiquette allows up to 3 months for you to send out the thank you cards after your wedding. You don't need to use a professional picture but if you get them back in time and want to then that is fine. I got my thank you cards on minted.

I would have to say NO, with our busy schedule and the little balance we owe to the photographer the Thank You card will be sent out late.

I think that's fine. I got all ours out within 2 months (it took longer than I hoped but I did send them out as I filled them out so not everyone got them that late). No one said anything negative and several people said it was nice to get a thank you card at all.

I would wait until you are in your new home to send them out. Most people don't send them at all and frankly, it sounds like you could use a break so don't worry about those for now. Focus on getting moved and settled in. You're good girl!

I designed and printed my own cards. (my family owns a print shop so all that is free for me to do)

That is totally fine !!! And sorry about the stress you are dealing with ! I wouldn’t worry too much about time - it’s okay to wait.. also look at the dollar tree, Hobby lobby has a ton of them, party city does too!

Exactly. You don’t want any confusion with the address

I got married in July and we still haven't done ours yet, but it's on our to-do list for this weekend! We got ours from Shutterfly when they had a 50% off sale.

I plan on getting our Thank You Cards from Ann's Bridal Bargains once our pro photos come in. I think it's going to be hard to beat 49 cent cards!

We got ours from Hobby Lobby and Target - just basic Thank You cards - so that I could use the remnant later lol.

You do need to send them as soon as possible, but I think a month isn't crazy to send them. Plus, it'll give you the chance to include a change of address card in the note
