Thank you Postcards

OG Kathryn, on May 18, 2016 at 9:56 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 1 9

Hi Everyone! I am looking at post cards for thank you cards. Two questions:

1. Did you include your address for return? I am not sure where to put it.

2. Personalized or standard message? I have the worst handwriting but I feel like personalized is the way to go. Anyone do either or?

Pictures would be great as well, thanks in advance.

We went with regular thank you cards instead. You can get 100 thank you cards for $17 on Amazon. I'm always pro-personalized message. There can be standard lines you use in each card, but there should be elements that personalize it.

ETA: We haven't actually sent out our wedding thank yous yet. You're making me feel like a bad host.

I plan on getting post cards, but writing a short personalized message on them. Standard messages seem a tad cold to me.

We haven't either! Just trying to get them ordered. We are going to our cottage for a long weekend next weekend so I figured it'd be a good time to get some done.

We got packs of blank, simple thank you cards from Walmart. We wrote a short personal message in the cards.

    "Hi Guest!

It was so wonderful to see you at our wedding. We feel honored that you took the time to come. We wanted to thank you for your kind gift. We're sure to use GIFT any time we're NEEDING TO USE GIFT. Again, thank you!

    The Mr. and Mrs."

But we changed it up a little for each card.

Get real cards, with envelopes, and write a personalized message.

You should always put a return address in case it gets lost in the mail. Top left corner of the same side with the address.

Definitely, definitely personalized. You should be acknowledging specific gifts and writing a personal note.

    Hi, married lady! Smiley smile

I prefer the regular thank you cards and envelopes. I also would do personalized messages in each.

I got basic thank you cards at Hobby lobby half price - $5 for 50 cards and will include a wallet sized picture of us holding up a thank you banner, and write a personalized message for each.
