Thank You Wedding Gift for Future In Laws?! Yay or nay?!

Hello all!

So my finacee and I will be moving to Los Angeles after our wedding and after this summer for career reasons, yay! Fiancee's parents are both from there, but moved to New Orleans about 12 years ago. We are actually moving to almost their same old block.

So I was thinking of getting fiancee's parents (as a wedding thank you gift, since they are contributing) a canvas print of a map of New Orleans in a heart shape and Los Angeles in a heart shape.

FMIL also just moved into a new home in New Orleans so I thought this might be a good gift to thank her and it's also practical. Thoughts?

Fiancee's parents are paying for almost the entire wedding, so I'm wondering if this gift is too "cheap" an idea?

I think it's very sweet, I love that idea! I don't think it's "cheap" I think it's a nice gesture.

There are some super cute half and half ones on Etsy! Canvas is awesome but you could also do a nice print in a frame, too.

ETA if your concern is the price---no, your gift should not be commensurate with what they're paying, it should just be thoughtful and heartfelt. I think it's an awesome gift!

There's also a jewelry brand called a jaffe where you can make a necklace with a map on it. Maybe you can map out your new address and their address in New Orleans and you can put a little diamond where your actual house is. It would definitely be more expensive (around $200 for sterling silver) but just wanted to give you another option

I think its great!! It should be a gift from the heart to show your appreciation. A nice handwritten card would be nice to - tying in how distance won't affect the great relationship you have and gratitude for the wedding

It's a great idea! My only concern would be whether that is something they would like to put up on their walls. I know I'm very particular about decor in the house.
