What's some of the worst/weirdest suggestions you've been given regarding wedding planning?

- Mine would be FH thinking his groomsmen didn't need gifts (luckily I talked him into giving them something!)

- FH didn't want to feed anyone at our rehearsal dinner and said, instead of providing drinks, they could use the water fountain (I told him we had to provide a meal and drinks)

- My mom suggesting a potluck (food safety issues there so I shut that down really fast!)

One of the groomsmen's girlfriends asked if I could change the date because it was too close to her birthday.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! No.

Oh my! Your family seems to have plenty of opinions on your wedding. Jeans to a wedding is just cringe Smiley laugh

Oh, moms. Wish is such a gamble I would never feel comfortable ordering from them. I laughed at her suggesting to just show up at the park. If only things could be that simple!

It's truly hard to please everyone with one date! I really love how you and your husband incorporated both of your cultures into the wedding!

If you did hire her, I could totally see her just putting a single mirror tile on every table Smiley laugh

Your FH sounds so much like mine. That's so cool how you're having an ice cream truck as a favor!

My mom is addicted to cruises, and she tried to convince me that I just HAD to have my wedding on a cruise ship. (I’ve never been on a cruise, the last thing I need during my wedding is to discover i get sea sick xD) it might be cheaper for us, but definitely not the 75 guests we want to invite to our wedding.

Plastic tablecloths definitely don't scream wedding to me. Way to go for being a true coupon queen!

FILs can be really tricky sometimes. You're totally right, it shouldn't be about the gifts! And getting married in the water? I'd pass on that too Smiley laugh

Various family members suggested potluck (oh, for the love of all things, no)

I had a crazy aunt (self-proclaimed ‘cool’ aunt) recommend abstinence from the time we get engaged so I can get a “re-virginization” procedure so I can still give him the “ultimate gift” for our wedding (yes, I nearly shattered my ribs laughing)

Probably one of my favorite suggestions was to have our wedding at my grandparents cabin. To understand how truly bat-poop crazy that is you must understand: the closest hotel is roughly 30 minutes driving on old dark roads, there’s no running water, there’s one OUTHOUSE, all nearby towns are unofficial sundown cities (big ol’ nope there), and the kitchen is akin to that of a Manhattan studio apartment (teeny tiny and fractionally functional).

Dad May or may not have been kidding. You never know with him.
FILs make me nuts sometimes. Their lack of interest in FH, lack of interest in the wedding, lack of interest in getting to know me....

“Re-virginization” is a thing you should want? Somehow I don’t think “crazy aunt” is an adequate of this gem of a person.

FH also didn't see the point in providing gifts for his groomsmen then when I said he had to he proceeded to tell me that he was going to give them football hats. I looked at him and said that's not really what you're supposed to give them...

Odd song requests like the YMCA (which I hate)

I had some family members ask why there wasn't a fish option. I promptly replied that fish typically doesn't hold up well at weddings so I went for chicken or beef. I then asked if they were vegetarians or vegan and they said "no" they just want fish. I was like...um too bad???....

Unfortunately, it very much is a real procedure. Virginity is a social construct so I wouldn’t purposefully put myself down for a serious medical procedure unless it was a necessity. So no.

She’s 400% a crazy aunt. She holds some truly abhorrent beliefs around race and religion 🤷🏽‍♀️

My MIL insisted I wore her dress. Even though I’ve told her no multiple times in the past..

Mutual Friend suggested FH walls down the aisle instead to switch things up.. LOL..

^Same friend - thought having karaoke/dance battles would be fun.. but again no thanks
