The band does not fit and i am curious to see who has done this with their ring?

Brittany, on June 25, 2020 at 11:51 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

My FH got me a very beautiful unique engagement ring and the band for the wedding that matches! I decided that I wanted to put another band on the top to "enhance" it. I went online and asked the seller to separate the set for me to buy just the band and I finally got it in the mail! So happy but now I have three rings on my finger and it is not fitting right even though separately they fit perfectly fine. So has anyone had to I guess weld them together or kept them separate? How does your ring look? Did you have to resize it to be able to fit all those on one finger? I know I am going to resize mine because they are not all fitting on my finger but I am so scared that they won't be able to! What advice do you have that could maybe help this? Are there any tricks besides losing more weight to fit the ring? I attached a photo to kinda show whats going on. Sorry for my nail polish!

Keep in mind when you try on a (single) ring it goes to the end of your finger. The width of your finger changes as it nears your knuckle. I'd take it to a jeweler and ask their opinion. So, what's happened here is your fingers are different sizes at different points in your finger and like a corset (for lack of better word) right now those rings just keep pushing everything up and making it wider and harder to fit anything properly.

Thank you, Margaret! I appreciate it! That's a good analogy for comparing it to a corset! I knew I would have to go to the jeweler. Smiley ups But at least two of them fit well together LOL! Do you think I should have them put all three rings together in one piece?

So my ring is an engagement ring with an enhancer, and the guy warned us to only size everything down a half size when my engagement ring by itself was probably a whole ring size off. Now everything fits just fine! I'd just keep that in mind when you're adjusting your rings.

Thank you, Kathryn! I appreciate it! Do you have a picture of it by chance?? So you are saying to make sure it doesn't go bigger or smaller than one size that it is currently correct??

Yeah, you want to make sure when you're resizing you don't go too small! Becsuse it'll be tighter with more ring coverage basically. If it's too small, try sizing the top one up a half size. Also mine is soldered together because I knew I would always want to wear both at the same time.

That's completely up to you. I know right now you're completely in love with your set. But think down the road, if you weld them together you will forever have to wear it together. Will it become too bulky down the road?

Thank you, Margaret! That is true, I didn't even think about that! It actually might be too bulky later. I will keep that in mind!

Another thing to consider is.... let’s be honest, most of us are skinnier when single and some doing everything to lose weight for the wedding, then just a few years later bammmm the ring is too small! My ring is 1/2 size too big, I have big knuckles, plus it has a rather big rock on top of it, so it keeps spinning. I bought a ring adjuster as pictured. I think it’s worth to try to separate your rings invisibly since it is cheap anyway. If it doesn’t work out it won’t be a huge loss. The band does not fit and i am curious to see who has done this with their ring? 3

Belle thank you!! You make a VERY good point LOL I was A LOT skinnier when I was single now I have a little love to give you know? LOL So that is a good point and I will keep that in mind when I go to the jewlers. Oh, I did not know they made those!! That's awesome!! They keep them together or from falling off your finger??

The adjusters is there to make the ring tighter. It is silicone and it is easy to cut as short or long as you need. It’s also cheap, so I don’t mind to change it when it gets discolored after a while. I change mine every month or so.
