The best decision I made was hiring decorator for the wedding.

VSwedding, on August 21, 2016 at 10:10 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 18

I no longer have to search for sales at micheals or stalk tradesy. My fiancée thought it would best to leave the decorating to the professionals lol. Here is a picture of her design for the sweetheart table. Anyone else hired a decorator for their wedding?

It is really great to have one!

Where I am from, the florist is also the decorator. Its just how its done in PR. It makes everything so much easier. I can't imagine having to set up your own wedding decorations!

That was one of the first vendors I hired I can't decorate and don't want to be responsible for it either for nothing LOL

Her ideas looks great. Unfortunately some of us cannot afford a decorator (me included) and that is why we choose to do DIY. But if you can I say go for it it would definitely take some weight of your shoulders during the wedding planning process.

I have two lol One person had a completely different inventory and didn't feel comfortable allowing the other person to handle their stuff. Thankfully I worked out a deal so it's not crazy expensive. But I am extremely glad I did this as well. So much less stress!

I'm thinking of hiring a design consultant to help me make sense of my ideas because they're going overboard. Her hourly rate isn't too much. I think 4-6 hours would be helpful. Its a middle ground option for DIY brides.

Actually yes. I hired a stylist and a planner. It was worth every penny.

@Teneasha P. I found some pretty nice and reasonable decorators off facebook and craigslist surprisingly. Worth checking local decorators in your area.

Make sure she sends you pictures from her own portfolio. A lot of the pictures are straight from Pinterest. Carrying the ideas out it something different.

I have a decorator. I already bought some of the decor, but I will leave the rest up to her, along with design aspects.

@brittany K. Some wedding planners and DOC at the venue should help with set up. I think you just bring them the decorations if your doing DIY.

I am seriously considering this. It would be so nice to leave it to someone else, especially since it is a DW.

We have an event decor professional for our April reception as well! He has been so great so far and his vision is fantastic! I can't wait to go to our tablescape meeting in December! There are some elements I will DIY, but I'm so glad it was in the budget to work with a professional!

I hired a decorator as well and I am SO glad I did. I can just sit back and relax and tell her what I want to do. She'll do set up and tear down, too. I can't DIY for shit and I wasn't down for that kind of stress.
