My husband & I went to Mens Warehouse about 2 months ago and chose the attire for everyone in the wedding party. Well the tailor told us to get everyone in to their nearest store near them (they in a couple different states) by the end of the year. They are all rentals. No one has gone. Our wedding is in end of May 2021... When do i freak out?? I dont want to be a bridezilla but i just want to be prepared. Its just a fitting to get their measurements.

Keep calm but send out a notice to everyone that it needs to be done ASAP.

Honestly they still have time. We got our tuxes from Men's Wearhouse and the best man didn't go to get his measurements until about a month prior to the wedding.

Same! Our wedding is June 12, 2021 and we selected tuxedo rentals for the groomsmen and no one has gone yet to get fitted. I asked my fiancé to sent them a reminder last night. He did advise me that it is quite normal for guys to wait on this stuff. Sigh.

I'm not sure how Covid has affected things, but I can say with certainty that pre-Covid, men really do not need a ton of lead time for suits/tuxes, especially rentals from Men's Warehouse. Men could easily go less than 2 months before the wedding, get measured, and pick up their suits/tuxes with no issues. My husband and his groomsmen purchased custom suits from Indochino for our wedding and the turnaround from measuring to getting their suits in the mail was not even 8 weeks, and this was in January-March of this year, when the pandemic was raging in China (which is where Indochino suits are made). He was the best man in a wedding with a tux rental from Men's Warehouse a couple years ago and went to get measured 6 weeks ahead of time.

Now Covid has certainly slowed things down, including production and shipping, but to go from 6 weeks lead time to 6 months seems excessive.

Bridesmaids, on the other hand, needed 3-6 months lead time pre-Covid. I can't for the life of me figure out when a dude can get a suit in less than 2 months, but a girl can't get a dress in 6 months.

I would remind the guys to go get measured, but not freak out. You still have time!

I would suggest sending them a notice saying they need to get measurements by 15th of January

My husband and his guys ordered 4-5 weeks before the wedding. The order was placed 1 month prior to the wedding date. Now, we didn’t use men’s warehouse, but it seems crazy to me that they would need measurements 5 months out, for rentals. It’s not like they’re custom suits.

A lot of proms are in May so maybe the demand will be higher in May. But 5 months seems like a long time. Just give them a gentle reminder it needs to be done. Or rather remind you FH it needs to be done and he needs to get his guys in to get measured.

They always tell people that; that is where we purchased our tuxes and had everything tailored... all within 2 weeks. Literally picked everything up 1 week before leaving for our destination wedding. I would not freak out until like April.

Yeah davids told us order early and scaring us with "oh looks like it will come in a couple weeks before your event" that was bull. I ordered one of bridesmaids dresses off there. Got it in 5 days. I yelled at them over the phone.. haha. Its stupid for them to scare us.

Back story. All the guys are in the Navy. Everyone is kinda everywhere. His best man will be in Bahrain. Idk if there is one there but we can always get his measurements from someone over there. His one buddy lives 10 mins from us. He is just kinda lazy. Ones in Hawaii and one is his 17yr old brother. This guy is pretty tall 6"7 and 170 pounds so hes pretty skinny. I just dont know how they have rentals that fit everyone so im probably just ignorant to how all this works. Idk im a crazy lady. Ill wait till March MAXIMUM 🤪

No need to freak out. You can either call them one at a time and light a fire under them, or have your wedding planner do it for you. You still have time. Breathe.😀

My wedding was in July of 2019, and Men's Warehouse told me they just needed the measurements a month before the event date. I don't know if maybe Covid has changed things or prom season is to blame, but I feel like that is a big time difference from what I had been told.

Are you doing super fancy custom tuxes or something? We used Men's Wearhouse as well for our June 2019 wedding, and they actually wouldn't let the groomsmen place their orders for their rentals more than 90 days out. We chose the tuxes 2 months out and the tailor recommended that all of the guys go in to get measured 1 month before our wedding for their rental tuxes. Unless something has drastically changed with Men's Wearhouse tux rentals since 2019, I think you have a ton of time and are worrying way too soon!

Same thing happened with ours. Men’s Warehouse told us we had 30 days for the rest of the groomsmen to come in and get fitted. A few days before the deadline after multiple reminders I got my fiancé to round them up and take them himself lol. Luckily everyone is right in town! I would have your fiancé call them and firmly remind them they need to get it done like TODAY. I wouldn’t stress too much over it!

My fiancé is a groomsmen for a wedding next week and he only got his measurements done at Men's Wearhouse maybe a month ago. There wasn't any kind of strict deadline. And our wedding is also in May and we plan to go to Men's Wearhouse for the guys. When we went to his fitting last month and asked about our wedding they said 3 or 4 months before will be plenty of time. So I'm not sure why they need the measurements 5 months in advance for your wedding? Seems like an extreme deadline. I mean it would be nice to get it done and out of the way, but with the holidays not everyone might make it there. I would call the store and confirm what the actual deadline day would be.

We also used Men's Warehouse and were told 3 weeks prior to wedding for rentals.

They’re fine, tux rentals are not like dress shopping where you have to be months in advance. As long as they go probably like a month prior to wedding they should be fine.

We used Men's Wearhouse and the deadline to get measured was 1 month out from our wedding.

November and December are busy months for most people, so I'm not surprised no one has gone. I'd make sure you know what the hard deadline is for submitting measurements and everything, maybe set a soft deadline to build in some buffer time and give yourself peace of mind, communicate that deadline, and then follow up with the guys closer to it.

All of our guys got measured less than a week out from the deadline. Not ideal for my sanity, so I totally get it, but fortunately things went smoothly for the groomsmen.

I generally wouldn't recommend MW after our experience -- but we used them because we also had groomsmen all over the country and it's an accessible store.
