"The Bridal Registry" or Royal Prestige giveaway

Kristy, on January 30, 2014 at 4:29 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 12

I just got a phone call from The Bridal Registry saying that I won 1,000 grocery coupon, a voucher for 2 complimentary wedding bands, and 2 getaways from filling out a card at The Great Bridal Expo this past weekend. The catch so far is that I have to sit through a 90 minutes presentation where they try and sell me Royal Prestige cookware. Has anyone else received a phone call like this or gone through with this give away? Is it a scam? Is it worth going to the presentation?

My sister did it years ago... I'm not sure how it went for her... I really don't remember, and she ended up not getting married... I think she ended up having to buy the cookware, but I'm not 100% sure.... I'll ask her tonight and get back to you! Smiley smile

I've gotten that call (even when I didn't actually attend a bridal show, but just registered for it). I think its a scam, I just ignore the calls now. I've received probably 20 in January alone.

You go and sit through their little presentation and they tell you the free crap only comes with a huge purchase. Waste. of. time.

We did it also, the rings are from JVL ( free coupon codes but you have to pay $25 for each ring for shipping). The grocery coupons they wanted us to pay for some membership for a year for over $1000 worth of coupons, and a set of engraved champagne glasses ( you have to pay 15 bucks to have them shipped) I did get a cute apron going. Depends on if you have the time free to go to do this. so the items are not really free

What a scam. They have been calling incessantly since I started doing bride stuff. I think David's bridal gives your information out as well...

Okay I said I'd report back... And I thought it was a scam too... But when my sister did it, she received the vouchers for the trip, but they ended up expiring before she used them... She purchased the cookware but said that she wasn't required to do so... And based off of what Susanstephen said, I don't know if I'd do it......

I got that phone call..my fiance and I plus 2 went and sat through a very interesting show. I'm an undercover Betty Crocker Smiley winking so I love things like this. We were given a choice (just for showing up) between a 600$ gift card for wedding bands from jvl jewelry and engraved champaign flutes (only costs s&h) or vacation destinations only having to pay for the flights (if I remember correctly). With the purchase of anything they were selling you get everything...ring gift certificate, toasting flutes, and honeymoon destination packages. I enjoyed myself Smiley smile

If you go only get the free items and leave unless you know for sure you want the cookware cause you only have 3 days from the day of signing the contract to cancel after that you are screwed and it goes on your credit!!

Unfortunately me and my Fiancé Went to a show yesterday and bought the smallest package. We have decided it was not a good idea. On the stuff we signed it tells us that we have within three days to cancel at no penalty. My questions are, are they going to honor that? If we cancel will they commit identity theft with the info? Are we in the clear after we cancel? Thank you for your help
