the color sangria

Laura, on March 21, 2015 at 12:19 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 8

So we were going to go with eggplant and then found sangria and like it a lot. However, I'm finding that it's not easy to find that color in things like flowers (real touch) and so on. It seems to be a color that David Bridal uses. So my question is, would you consider burgandy similar enough to sangria? Or would it be easier to just switch to burgundy? My other colors are gray, peacock(very limited) and champagne with ivory and silver accents.

I'm trying to think of ways to incorporate my colors more since I'm not doing a lot of floral. My table linens are a light grey and I know my bouquett will be calla lilies in whatever shade of sangria/burgundy/eggplant we end up going with, with champagne and ivory flowers and feathers. If we're having clear disposable plates would it be too much to order napkins in the peacock color? I'm so not good at this part Smiley sad

    Maybe look into "wine" colors?

I found this on Pinterest. I was so going to use this color scheme until I realized I wanted just red roses lol anyways, most of your colors are in this one! Maybe think of using a few shades lighter then burgundy? A darker red like this looks gorgeous with your colors!

Why not use like "red wine" shades. It doesn't really all have to be the same shade. You can incorporate red sangria and burgundy.

I wouldn't worry too much about it all matching perfectly. Our colours we royal blue and a purple pretty similar to DB's sangria. Not everything was the same shade, but all within the same family of colours and it all looked great in the end.

It is one of the hardest colors to match. I desperately wanted David's Bridal sangria but had a very very difficult time finding anything to match outside of David's Bridal. When I say anything I mean like ribbons, font color for invites, decorative accents, flowers, jewelry etc.

You might have better luck with Radiant Orchid however.

Edited: No, burgundy is much darker and more red than Sangria. So I wouldn't consider it similar.

Just like JK, I wanted the sangria, but was having a hard time matching other colors outside of DB. So I went

    With the DB truffle instead

I ended up using Azazie Jade. I finally gave up after months of finding shaded of pink, purple or red and never Sangria

I think it would be lovely to just use shades of purple/fuchsia for flowers, etc. I'm just using a bunch of shades of reds for my colors (because it's kind of hard to match reds, too) and black as our main colors.
