The Easily Forgotten Little Things...

Bethie, on August 4, 2015 at 4:27 PM Posted in Planning 0 43

Is there anything you can think of that can easily be forgotten? You know, stuff that isn't on your wedding day checklist to do at 6 months or 3 months, etc. Everytime I think I have everything in line, I'm like... Oh - I need to get champagne flutes. Or a Cake Topper. A garter, etc. There are so many little details and things I need to buy but I am totally paranoid I'm going to forget something important.

I want like a pretty hanger. Not necessarily one of those wire ones... just like a dark wood one for the pictures of just the dresses. Thats what I am scared to forget lol

Yep I have a list of the little things we need to buy that aren't on wedding checklists. I need a cake stand, card box, guest book, floating candles, favors, aisle runner, and lots more I'm probably forgetting lol.

Table Numbers and Escort Cards aren't on the checklist, but are definitely necessary (at least in my opinion). I'm so worried about forgetting the little things!

One thing my photographer reminded me of the other day while I was making my schedule is the logistics of our stuff.

Like who gets the dress and rings to the church, who gets the cooler with our booze onto the bus, etc.

    I forgot the cardbox.

We both forgot to add ourselves and our vendors to the head count.

I keep forgetting to buy a garter set... I have a garter charm. But I don't want to buy it online as I want to see the quality that I'm getting. I'm weird.

I also haven't bought a cake set... And I don't really want to as I'll never use it again and seems like a waste of $30-50. I'm going to see if my DOC has one I can borrow LOL.

I kept forgetting to get flower girl baskets.

@lolsen, I got pretty wooden hangers at Home Goods if you have one near you. I was able to get five for $6. And then your bridesmaids' dresses can be on matching hangers for pictures.

ETA: Oh, and make sure you get any Etsy products far enough in advance. That was stress I didn't need the week before.

One of my best friends forgot her overnight bag on her wedding night! She was stuck in her dress until someone got it for her. Luckily her hotel was very close to her house!

Pinterest is a great place for inspiration, but I also find it great for keeping me organized. I have a whole (private) board of my final decisions that we have made in regards to invitations, cake topper, fancy hangers, etc. and I definitely utilize the comment tool to make notes about the things we purchased, when to drop them off, where they go, all that kind of craziness!

    1. crochet hooks for buttoning small buttons through elastic hooks on back of wedding dress

    2. copy of personal vows - determine who will have them before the ceremony

Oh! Crochet hook for the button on my dress! Good call Karebear!

Mine has loads and my bridesmaids will be 14 and 16, not sure how much patience they'll have!
