Oh no thank you! Totally not my thing. However if the bride and groom want it, go for it!

I'm still doing the bouquet toss. FH is on the fence regarding the garter. I'd like to do them both and turn them into a contest rather than a way to single out the single people.

Into it! I've participated in a few at other weddings and we are doing it at our own! But to each their own!

I don’t really have an opinion on it. I don’t know if I’ll do it just because it’ll be a small wedding I’m having but it’s never been something I’ve thought much about.

I am on the fence- I understand the tradition, but I do cringe sometimes about throwing the garter depending on how it is done. Grooms keep it classy.

If you have a large wedding I think it could be fun, but my wedding is so small it would be very awkward.

Over it. Its antiquated and unnecessary and puts people on the spot and in uncomfortable positions.

The idea I'm stealing from one of my friends in place of the bouquet toss that will still use the little one is to have all the married couples called up for a special dance. As the song is playing the MC will call out an amount of time (starting with the smallest - one year) and anyone who has been married less than that amount of time will need to step off the main dance floor. The last standing couple - the one who has been married the longest - will get the bouquet and we will personally cut them their pieces of cake.

Over it. I don't have one single friend that enjoys getting up there for the bouquet. And the garter toss is just uncomfortable.

We are putting the garter in a ballon and blowing up about 40 balloons. All the single guys will stand in a circle and my bridesmaids will put all the balloons in a circle and wtej the DJ says go they single men will pop the balloons looking for the garter. For the bouquet I was going to put it in a clear box and lock it up. All the single ladys will get a key and they to open the box up. Whoever unlocks the box will get the bouquet. I still wanted to include this in my wedding but do it different then the norm.

Over both! I was thinking about the bouquet toss, but mostly everyone is either married or getting married!

Over it! Both are outdated. Women fighting over flowers with the "hope of being next" is such a bad cliche'. And I don't know why one would toss a worn (and possibly sweaty guater! Smiley sad

We're skipping both. The bouquet toss isn't so bad but garter toss I've always found to be strange

I'm doing the bouquet toss because my bridesmaids insists but we are passing with the garter toss. I didn't buy one.

I still like the bouquet toss but I never understood the garter toss. I find it awkward.

I loved participating in them when I attended weddings but we won't have any single people so we aren't doing it
