Bouquet toss is fine. Garter toss is tacky and usually vulgar.

To add on to mine. I also would ask ALL ladies to come and catch the bouquet. Same with the gator toss for ALL men to come and catch.

We are doing the bouquet toss, only because I really looked forward to catching it at weddings before my fiancé finally proposed. 🤗 He is going to do the garter toss, but the garter will not be on my leg prior to. I think the whole going up the dress thing to fetch the garter is weird and awkward!

I saw this really cute idea of what to do instead of the traditional bouquet toss. Perhaps it may work for your extra bouquet? Someone, usually the DJ's assistant, will go around to older married couples and ask how long they've been married. Then the DJ will announce the couple that has been married the longest and ask them to come to the dance floor. The bride gives the bouquet to the lady of the couple and they dance. I thought this was super sweet and I plan on doing this instead of the traditional bouquet toss.

We are not doing either. Most of our friends are married and the garter toss is awkward to me.

I think I’m going to take mine out. I just don’t like the feel of them and I don’t think it’s nexessary. I’d rather be out on the dance floor!

    We're not doing either one.

We are doing the anniversary dance though! I've seen some people describe it. My MOH put together a basket to gift to the "winners".

I'm... both? We are lucky in that we are a lesbian couple so it won't be weird if we do the bouquet toss and not the garter toss. And I can't STAND the garter toss. We will be telling all vendors though (coordinator, photographer, DJ, etc) that they are not to force anybody into it. In the two weddings I was at, I was forced into it and it sucked. I have lots of friends who are really really into it though so I'm excited to see the bouquet toss at my wedding.

I’m all for both traditions, that being said, I’m only game for the toss...not the part where the “chosen” people have to participate in putting the garter on some random stranger-ewww.

We r doing both but with our own spin on it. Bouquet toss will be to honor all women at our wedding. Whichever Lady catches it also gets a bottle of wine. Garter toss....FH will take off my garter but he will keep it. The toss garter that will never go on my body, will have already been placed on a football and he will toss that. That fella will get a bottle of something as well.

We're doing both...FH has been warned regarding the garter toss. He told me he would never do anything to embarrass me or be disrespectful.

Over it! I can't imagine him sliding up to my lady spot in front of our family and friends to take off my garter with his teeth... ummmm no... we're not doing that. Not tossing the bouquet either... we have an alternative...

Also for the garter toss, who catches the garter will only put it on the person who catches the bouquet IF she is his date, otherwise it goes no further.
