The generic thank you card

Got a generic photo thank you card in the mail from a wedding attended in September. It said "Thank You!" No "dear so and so." No personal note, no thank you for the small fortune you gifted us. Is this a thing now? We've always gotten nice, hand written, personal thank you cards. It seems so...

Is this a thing now? We've always gotten nice, hand written, personal thank you cards. It seems so impersonal, sticking a picture in an envelope. Just me? Is anyone planning to do this?

We sent out hand written thank you notes to everyone who gifted something (card or more) the week after the wedding. We are sending a card with a poem and some pictures on it. Even on those, we are writing people's names and a short note.

I am appalled at what is passing for "thoughtful" gestures. But I guess a generic thank is better than none at all (which is what we got from 2 wedding we went to last year! and we gifted very nicely).

My Fiance was a GM at his best friends wedding over a year ago, we never got a thank you for that--we didnt travel or anything, it was local, but he rented a tux, we bough a gift. etc-- mind u we never received an actual invitation for it either.-- weird--since we are so close maybe they felt they could spare it

I received a postcard thank you with pics from their wedding.. I guess it's a personal choice but I will be sending hand written thank you notes. I've already purchased generic thank you cards from Hobby Lobby. They usually have a 50% off sale on all His & Hers items every other week.

Ew. I'm thinking of doing a post card with a wedding pic that says "thank you" but I'm planning on writing a note on the back... I don't get general thank you cards.... at least she sent one though

I got a generic card months after a wedding, when I say months I mean like 5 months... it was so impersonal. I don't mind a generic thank you when the back has a hand written thank you.

Like we came gifted and my FH was in the wedding. A personal thank you would have been cool.
