Four days out from the wedding. A week ago we had to uninvite FMIL (details in my last discussion) and I was hoping that would be the last problem we had to deal with in the rest of our countdown (silly me, right?). ANYWAYS, day before yesterday I was using a paper trimmer with the big blade on the handle that you pull down and slice paper with. Wellllll I suppose I got a little too confident and started moving a little too quickly and next thing I know, I'm screaming and I've just chopped down on my own thumb. I cut of like a half peanut sized piece of thumb off the tip along with about a third of my nail at a diagonal. Bled like crazy, super painful, and now I have the silliest looking bandage on my thumb. Before you ask, yes it was my LEFT hand of course Well it's been healing pretty well for the most part, FH has been patching me up and changing my bandage with antibiotic ointment. I think by Sunday, it might be healed enough for me to put one of my press-on nails over it. I can only hope!
End of last week I was taking care of FH while he had a cold, which he's just now getting over. He's off to a job interview this morning and we're both really excited for this opportunity, so we're super nervous on how it goes. I wake up this morning and you guessed it, now I have a cold. Headache, super tired, stuffy nose, scratchy throat. Already dosed up on some cold medicine and a vitamin C supplement, going to get more meds and some Emergen-C from the pharmacy later today.
My boss is throwing me a bridal shower today at work and I feel so bad that I'm not chipper and bubbly like I should be. But I'm super thankful that she's put all of this together for me, so I'm going to power through and put on a happy face. I planned on working tomorrow, taking off on Friday and all of next week for the honeymoon, but now I'm thinking I should ask her if I can take off tomorrow too so I can rest for a day before finalizing the last of the wedding details.
Again, this was mainly a vent but good vibes are also needed and much appreciated. I hope you brides are having a much better week and don't have these stressors on your wedding week!
