The Honeymoon of your dreams

Angela, on February 6, 2020 at 12:30 PM Posted in Honeymoon 1 14

I'm curious, where would you go for a honeymoon if money wasn't a problem and you had two weeks? What if you wanted great food, some beach, some adventure, wine, culture, history, scuba diving and warm and sunny.

Annnnd GO!

I would have chosen something like Tahiti or Fiji. I imagine those huts on the clear water.

I'd choose Greece or like Bora Bora with those hut things in the water lol. I am assuming both could provide all of that.

Italy! We originally planned our dream honeymoon... Venice, Florence, Rome, Positano.

The reason we didn’t end up doing it was because we only had 9-10 days not a full 2 weeks (I wanted to do 3 days each in Venice/Florence/Rome and then 5 in Positano to relax and enjoy the beach) so the whole thing was too rushed to enjoy it in only 10 days. Also money. Also just didn’t want the stress of a complicated vacation after the wedding (travel stresses me out a lot... especially long flights). So we ended up going to the Bahamas which was much closer/more relaxing and worked better for us.

BUT in a perfect world with more money and more time I would’ve loved to do that Italy trip.

We went to Hawaii for a week and it was phenomenal. We spent around 9k but if we had a larger budget (maybe like 15-20k), we would have looked into the over the water villas in bali or tahiti. But Hawaii was so great and we wish we would have stayed 10-14 nights and not 7.

We’re heading to the Maldives! More secluded than bora bora and some of the best scuba in the world. Only Place where you can scuba with whale sharks year round

We're going to Turks & Caicos for 7 nights/8 days, which I'm super excited about (!!!), but if I could go anywhere, I'd love to go to Mykonos, Greece, Fiji, or Australia! I have 28 vacation days this year, but FH has limited vacation days so we had to be realistic on how far away we could go.

Just lit of curiosity what price range is Turks? Me and my FH are set on Santorini Greece but because of the flight time and our vacation time available from work we are strongly considering something closer to home and we have Turks and Caicos as our plan b(Greece is plan a). By the way have a blast on your honeymoon!

Thanks for your ideas. We were looking at Maldives because we are scuba divers. Looks amazing and my hunny has a travel company called Visual Itineraries so that’s a plus. The overwater bungalows are crazy expensive! But other than that, it’s little islands that only have a beach and one hotel with one restaurant. We want more variety and other things to do.
We’ve been to Tahiti but I was disappointed because although it’s beautiful, there is no wildlife or birds at all. Scuba diving was great! We saw spotted eagle rays and lemon sharks. And we and our kids snorkeled with black tip reef sharks and sting rays. That was cool! Food at our resort got boring so even though the kids ate free there, we went out the last 3 days. We did an ATV tour on Morea as well as zip lines and it was great!

I went to Ireland Long ago. It was beautiful and the castles and ruins were really cool. If you want to see some of my photos go to this website. Click on the photos. When you get to the one of a woman in a white dress with two huge castle Tourette’s on either side, that’s me. The one two photos later of a monk walking down the hallway is my ex-husband. There’s a few more of us in that set, but some of the photos are mine from Ireland. So yes the castles were pretty cool. County cork is beautiful. I highly recommend going into small towns and going to the local pub. I’ll talk to you amazing people and learn some cool songs. Ireland was a bit cold and misty so be prepared for that

My dream honeymoon was Greece. We are getting to go there luckily. We will be spending 3 nights in Athens, 5 nights in Santorini, and 4 nights in Crete.

My Fiancé is wanting to go to France, so we are planning to do a trip there soon. If you fly out of NYC you can find flights to Europe for under $300!
