How many times have you been a wedding party member in someone else's wedding? What role(s) did you have?

Oh wow, you've been in a lot of weddings! Very cool! Were those weddings all for family members? Or friends? Or a mix of both?

Maid of Honor twice and Bridesmaid once. All for friends, whom are now the three ladies that make up my bridal party.

Let's see as a child I was a flower girl 2x and as an adult I have been a bridesmaid 3x and maid of honor 1x. I m good if I never get asked again hahaha its fun but phew its expensive to be in someone else's wedding.

MOH once, bridesmaid 4x, reader 1x, flower girl 1x. I flew in and co-hosted multiple bachelorette and bridal showers. I did not know then it was atypical to include out of towners until WW. At the wedding reception, it is my role to keep people on the dancefloor and keep the party going to support my friend. No one wants a dull wedding.

I was a MOH last September for my best friends wedding. It was the first time I’d ever been in a wedding and I enjoyed it so much! I was in charge of the bachelorette party, it was like pulling teeth with the bridesmaids but everyone was on top of getting their dresses on time.

I totally get it! Being a bridesmaid can certainly add up: hair, makeup, wedding gift, bridal shower costs, bridal shower gift, bachelorette party costs, and bachelorette party gift, all in addition to the bridesmaids dress, shoes, and accessories.

When i was a kid i was in a similar role as a flower girl. and then as an adult i was MOH once. i did not enjoy it LOL. it made me realize there's so much more that goes on in being a part of someone's bridal party - the time, effort, cost. so in the future if it's not someone that was in my own party, then i'd put in way more consideration if i'd wanna be a part of it or not. i don't think people realize sometimes that it really does take a lot of time, effort and money depending on what the bride wants.

Awesome that you've been in so many weddings! And that was kind of you to host the bachelorette and bridal showers. I also didn't realize that out of towners weren't supposed to be included in the bridal shower. At every one I've attended, relatives from out of town were invited. They often declined the invite, but sometimes they were able to attend.

Awesome that you enjoyed being the MOH! If you like planning, it's a lot of fun to put together the bridal shower, bachelorette party, etc. Though I can understand how it's often difficult to get people to reply back while you're planning those events, which is frustrating.

I've only ever been a reader in a wedding, but I did work as a wedding planner for a bit, so I got the behind-the-scenes experience that way lol

Oh yes! And we all live in different states. Her wedding was in Phoenix, I live in Houston, her cousins in Illinois and another one in Florida.

All friends. When my brother got married my SIL included 3 of my other sisters who she'd become really close to. We're not including any siblings in our wedding parties because I have too many.

I was the MOH for my sister's wedding a few years back, and I also didn't realize how much goes into planning all the events! I love planning in general, but wow, it took a lot out of me lol. I'm sure you did a great job as your friend's MOH, even if it wasn't the most enjoyable experience for you! You bring up a good point, I think people sometimes forget that declining to be in the wedding party is always an option, especially if it'll take more effort/time/money than what they feel they can offer.

It really is a lot but considering my age not really. Over the years it’s been a combination of cousins, college friends and friends in general. It’s been a good ride but I’m ok with never being in one again. 💙😂💙
