I waited until two days before to write my thank you notes to my bridal party and family. That was a terrible idea! I was so stressed and emotional I was a blubbering mess. I barely made it through half my thank yous before I gave up. Definitely write those out way before!

This isn't a thing to buy or do but just something to remember. Remember that you are a partner, friend, daughter, granddaughter first. You are a bride second. Treat your friends and family with the utmost respect. A lot of times (especially close the wedding) brides get super emotional and stressed. They lash out and use the excuse of "it's my day I can do what I want". Remember that it is only one day and you have those relationships to care for long after that!

Believe it or not, people forget that they have to get a license ahead of time.

We forgot to add ourselves to the final count...... We had exactly two last minute declines. I assume the caterers would have made it work, but who knows.

@Katie that is some of the best advice I've read on here. I think so often people get caught up in the emotions of their wedding that they forget to still be a friend and companion to those we love most.

I left the favors at home. I completely forgot until well into the reception. It wasn't too big of a deal, but I felt like a jerk after my daughter labeled 5 cases of honey jars with our wedding date/thank you labels.

I know a lot of people forgo the tosses now-a-days but they were a non-negotiable for my DH. I hated the idea of forcing the single people out onto the floor so we changed it so everyone was involved (so all female guests for the bouquet toss, all male guests for the garter toss) and who ever caught it would get a gift card.

Well guess who completely forgot about that until the DJ announced it to all of my guests?

Obviously this is very specific to my wedding, but this can kind of go along with getting cash for tips as needed on day of etc. as well.

My sister forgot to put on her expensive veil so it was literally a waste of money. They also forgot to add themselves into the head count! It worked out luckily!

My wedding was in a different state from where I lived, so it was vital I missed nothing bc I would not be able to drive back home to get it..I set every single thing i was taking together, with a list to check off, ao I missed nothing. I spent months prior writing all the thank you's to the bridal party and my vows so that I would not be stressed at the end. The one thing I wished we had done at the reception make sure the photographer took photos at every table.

@GreeneBunny lol I actually remember exactly where I was when I remembered that we didn't count ourselves. I was in Michael's two days before the wedding - everything started spinning and I had to sit down in the middle of the aisle haha

Also, if you're staying over or going somewhere (mini-moon, etc) right from the wedding, pack in advance. We were so focused on everything we needed to bring along for the wedding that I didn't remember to bring anything to wear that night. I also didn't have any underwear on our mini-moon (which wasn't a huge problem TBH). But yeah, pack in advance!

My friend forgot to put her "wedding earrings" on. She remembered during the photographs after the ceremony. She made her mom drive an hour round trip to fetch them. Worse thing is, you can see in the pics how unhappy she was.
