Just Said Yes October 2022

The Loralie Gilmore issue

So I'm still in the beginning stages of planning our wedding and so far everything is falling into place we haven't really had any moments of indecision. We fell in love with our first venue, found a great photographer and it only took me one hour to find a dress. But I keep having a feeling that something will go wrong because we're not having any decision problems as of yet. Has anyone else had this feeling?

Despite what TV has shown us, wedding planning is not always intensive drama and disagreements. My husband and I planned our whole wedding without a single argument. We had a similar idea of what we wanted. We toured 5 venues, and I went to 2 dress stores (1 was just with my mom to get an idea of silhouettes and the 2nd was the real deal and fell in love with the 1st dress the consultant put me in). We spoke to 2 DJs and 2 photographers before picking the one we wanted.

I agree with Hannah. Our planning went very smoothly and relatively stress-free, minus the COVID postponement lol

Hi there! If it makes you feel any better, I was a wedding officiant for a friend during 2020! They had a small wedding during the pandemic. She planned her wedding in 3 months and it worked out, bless them! I couldn’t fathom doing that but I think we should embrace what good things that arrive.

And should anything need changing, feel confident that you can meet the challenge. For what it’s worth, my partner and I have 2 favorite wedding location/venues, but we want to finish professional school first. Sometimes you just know what you want, and it’s just so much less stressful not to worry about that later. 💚
P.S. Lorelai Gilmore was a great character but she definitely had a lot going on & so did her suitors each time, until she realized that she couldn’t end the series without her match!

Really depends on the personality type you guys are. My FH and I are very decisive and not picky on most things, so our planning has been as uneventful and smooth as could be! I'm sure if any hiccups do occur, you will roll with the punches drama free Smiley smile

Okay I totally understand this feeling and worry though. After touring venues and not loving any of them, we decided on a whim to get married on the beach in California. Everything fell right into place as soon as we decided that - the photographer who shot our proposal and grad school photos was planning on going to visit her friend in California anyway so we won't be paying her travel costs, we snagged the date we wanted for the beach permit with zero issues, we found a hotel and multiple restaurants within walking distance of said beach, and the hardest decision we had to make was which restaurant (and ended up picking the one with the best vegetarian options). We finally ran into a hiccup with finding a rental company, but still no fights or major decisions to be made!

TV shows capitalize on the drama - if things aren't dramatic, you're still doing just fine. Happy planning 💛💛

Lots of weddings get planned without drama (mine was one). I think you are "borrowing trouble" here and not doing yourself any favors by worrying about non-existent problems.
