The obligatory MIL drama post.

Sorry about that! I went through family drama too. You'd think people would at least respect the day and be civil so everyone can have a nice time. Not so. People are going to be the way they are all the time and even more so if everyone is stressed out.

Holy fuck.... smh so sorry this happened to ya.

She was a pain through the whole planning process. First she wasn't coming because DHs bio dad was invited. Umm.. He's his dad, he had full custody of him until he was 15. Then she got in a fight with her husband and wasn't going to come because he was invited. Um.. He's also his dad, you've been married to him since he was 3. Then she wasn't coming because we wouldn't let her add 30 people to our 50 person guest list. I'm so glad the wedding is over!

I have no words for this lady. She sounds like she needs an exorcism.

Oh god. I'm scared that my FSMIL will be that way if she actually comes to our wedding. wft.

ETA: just saw your location, we're in PDX too! If FH had any step-siblings, I'd think you were talking about his step mom! Maybe they know each other...

I'm sorry this happened, but I admit that I laughed my head off when I read this part "she proceeded to sit in her car and pout for half an hour until she realized no one was coming out to get her because we had more important things to do. "

I've got relatives that do the same thing. they announce that they are going to run off because they are mad, then someone chases them down and begs them to stay.

last time a relative did that I told everyone 'just let her go!' she stayed on the porch for about 10 minutes, realized no one was going to chase after her, then came storming back in madder than ever.

I'm really sorry she acted this way, but for what it's worth, you're not the only one who has a relative that does things like this- I feel for you!

Uh I would've kicked her out myself. no sir. she got too much attention like she wanted.

When I used to read posts like this I used to think, "Wow! their in laws are really a piece of work. I am so glad my in-laws are great!" That was before my MIL started acting up. Now I can relate to all of you ladies with crazy MILs.

My fmil isn't drama, but she's a flake. Unless its about her man and his grandkids, nothing matters. Including her babies wedding.

All I can say is... yikes. Just wow.

I'm terrified of how my FMIL will act the day of our wedding, but I sincerely hope she isn't this bad. (I am REALLY sorry though that this happened to you and your family).
