For those of you who have already purchased your dress. How did you know it was ‘the one’? How many did you try on before finding it?

The dress I purchased was the fourth one I tried n at my very first dress appointment. I tried on more after as well. My MOH showed up late so I tried it on again to show her and when I walked out a second time. She, my mom and my future mother in law all teared up!

Here's my advice. Sleep on your pick. Don't get swayed by the "we'll give you a discount if you buy today," tactic. Take photos and see how the dress looks in photos. Get a second and third opinion.

I went to David Bridal's first. I loved the second dress I tried on. I almost bought it on the spot. Then I went to Boutique 1. I didn't really like any of the dresses until we finally found a sample that actually fit me. I liked the way it looked in person but in photos I looked super wide. Boutique 2- found a dress that I thought I would like if we switched to a different lace for the top. It was better than the satin halter I tried at Boutique 2. I thought it would actually work. Boutique 3- found two samples that fit me, I liked one of them, but not enough to buy. Boutique 4- found a dress I LOVE. Didn't want to take it off. But it doesn't photograph well and no one who saw just the photos liked it.

I think dress shopping is a compromise between your budget and how you feel in the sample. I am getting a better idea of what style I want. I think with a few tweaks, the DB dress will end up being the one because of fit and price.

    Happy search!

Knowing my wedding wasn't until 2020, I didnt want to start shopping too far in advance but heard a local bridal boutique was having a closing sale so I figured I'd go check it out, cause why not! (This was last year in 2018.) We looked around and grabbed a few dresses to try. While waiting for my turn, and looking at them on the hangers, there was one that stuck out to me a little more than others. I tried on two and they weren't bad but weren't anything special to me. The 3rd one I tried on was the one I was originally eyeing that stood out. When I first put it on, it was ok but didn't fit so it looked really funny. (Since this was a closing sale, it was all sample dresses that were being sold, and all of them were about 3-4 sizes too big for me so they all floated on me.) Once I walked out and they pinned it up to actually fit my shape we fell in love. I didn't cry as I'm not an overly emotional person in that way, but I definitely loved it and just felt that overwhelming excitement. It was unique and that's what I wanted. Not to mention it was $1300 on sale for $599. I wasn't expecting to find something so quick but I loved it and couldn't pass up the deal!

I tried on three and the fourth one was the winner. Highly suggest scheduling an appointment with About Love Bridal in Winter Haven, FL. Thy have some very pretty dresses and are currently having a Black Friday sale. All of their wedding dresses are $299 (not including alterations)!!

“The one” was dress number 5! I had tried on some fit and flares before with little luck, and as soon as I tried on the A-line style my demeanor immediately changed (for the good!). The dress was flowy and had just the right amount of lace and sparkle! Loved it and hubs did too!

The dress I chose was the fourth one I tried on and I picked it off the rack myself after seeing it on the website. It was different and so fun! I knew it was ‘the one’ because the moment the consultant put a veil on me, my mother and future mother in law started crying and that didn’t happen with any other dress.

I think it was maybe the 8th dress I tried on, but once my sister found it when we were just looking at dresses I felt like it was the one. It was everything I wanted. My grandma and mother in law just wanted me to try on about every dress in the store. I wasn't super emotional when I tried it on, but just by my face and how I felt you could definitely tell. I had to try on one more after it just because everyone wanted to see the other dress as well, but we knew my dress was the one so back in that one I went to get all jacked up.

I tried on 6 one was very similar to the one I got but didn’t seem quite right, I asked the lady helping me if she had any similar ones and brought the one I picked and it had everything the first one was missing.

Omg! I went to at least 5 stores and tried on over 30 dresses. I originally wanted fit and flare with off the shoulder. I tried on a dress that was A line with straps, which I didn’t like on the rack, but chose by my bridal consultant. When I tried it on, I have a big smile on my face. I said YES! I am still looking at the pictures everyday, and can’t believe how beautiful it is. I found the dress last week.

The third one I tried on was the one. I was 95% sure on the 2nd one but wanted to try on at least one more since 3 is my favorite number. I didn't want to take it off and couldn't wait to keep it. I literally walked out with the actual dress I tried on. The looks on the faces of my ladies that went with me also helped. They looked SO happy.

4 stores and about 16 dresses I found the one. There were quite a few others that were "more stunning" but I didn't feel comfortable in them. My one reminded me of my personal style with the type of lace and it was the right color for me (not stark white). I was very analytical in picking it out but my consultant for that day and my mom both reassured me. I went home without it because I kept second guessing myself but after sleeping, I couldn't stop thinking about it. If it was on my mind for 2 days then I figured it had to be right so I went back the next day and bought it.

I tried on 8 but I knew it was the one when I saw it.
Went to 2 bridal shops (the first time I wasn’t prepared and hated the experience but still tried on 3 dresses) the second time I was super excited. I knew it was mine when I saw it but tried on 4 more before that one and another one after it. I tried it on twice and was sold💕

TOO MANY ! lol I was waiting for that MOMENT that I kept hearing about, it didnt come. I loved many of them but something held me back. Then I met a girl who is in my school and asked if she knew of any shops or anyone selling a dress. She hooked me up with her sister in law who never ended up getting married and had this brand new gown with tags and a veil.......the gown was EVERYTHING I WANTED IN ONE! Its true, when you know you know.

I saw it and even on the hanger was like...that's it! I did not have an emotional moment but I for sure did not want to take it off and just kept picturing how amazing it will look that day and how FH will love it also. I tried on several dresses and actually exchanged my original dress for this one, but it was easy to exchange and totally worth the efforts. I'm in love!!
