the way the rings are on your finger

Mrs.S, on April 4, 2016 at 12:11 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 13

Technically she is correct. What hey, whatever floats your boat.

Traditionally, it goes the way it's depicted on the left. Wedding ring goes closest to your heart, with the engagement ring outside to protect it. But unless tradition means a lot to you, you can wear them however. There aren't any ring police Smiley smile

Agree with jadedraven, the wedding ring is closest to your heart and the engagement ring is outside to protect it.

I think if you wear it differently, people will continuously let you know it's supposed to be the other way around. I was a wedding recently and heard someone tell the bride the correct way to wear her rings.

I wear the band first and then my engagement ring on top. I think that is the most popular way to wear it, but I know others who wear it the opposite way as well. I think it's whatever you feel comfortable with.

Wedding band closest to your heart is the traditional way. But whatever floats your boat--nobody can tell you how to wear your set Smiley smile

Usually the bride will wear her engagement ring on her right hand during the ceremony so it's easier to place the wedding band first on the finger during the ceremony. After, she would switch the E ring back to sit atop the band. At least that's what I've read, I'm sure people do it different ways.

@VC I tried on the diamond bands but I liked the look of the plain ones the best! It makes my diamond stand out even more I think! Plus I'm not a huge jewelry person anyways. Simple is good Smiley smile

I'm not much one for tradition and I prefer the way my bands look on top of my e-ring so that's probably how I'll wear mine. I guess it comes down to your preference and how much you care if it's wrong in some peoples minds. I'm sure people will tell me it's wrong, I'll tell them I don't care.

Wedding band engagement ring and then if you get an anniversary band that goes on after the engagement ring.
