The Wife Chop

I always said I wouldn't cut my hair after the wedding, because it took so long to grow it out. So, I waited until after our anniversary! Actually, it was just time to get it cut, and I feel so much better now that I did. It was way down past my shoulders, now it is right at them. So, who else...

Oh cool Sharon! Very Cameron Diaz!

July, you look very hot and edgy with the wife chop!! Smiley smile

Hm, I think I got the suburban wife perm...or on better days, the wavy J.Lo do with longer bangs. ;p

Mine's getting chopped sometime next month. I just want to wait until this heat is more tolerable before I'm not able to pull all of it up. I had my hair like this when I met DS, and grew it out for the wedding.

I'm currently growing mine out, it's just past my shoulders now and I'm hoping to have it halfway down my back by the wedding. I am undecided whether or not I will cut it after the wedding, I grew up with long hair all the time and FH loves it longer, so I may keep it longer. I love to tease him and tell him I'm gonna chop it all off after the wedding.

I'd like to do something different with my hair... it has such a tendency to frizz, but DH really likes it long. I am, however, thinking about having bangs cut in since I ended up having the front of my hair brought across my forehead to simulate bangs for the wedding. I really don't like how I look with my hair all pulled straight back in a ponytail, and since I run and do 5ks, there's so many pictures being taken of my with my hair in a ponytail - ugh, I hate how I look in those.

I can't wait to cut my hair off after the wedding!! It is half way down my back now and I want to cut it to just below my chin I think. It's too much to take care of with it being so long. Smiley smile

    1. Longest my hair has ever been (I want to get it there again--bought my prenatal vitamins today!!) (I also want to be this skinny again)

    2. Current.

    3. What I'm growing it out from.

@Sharon-thanks! It was SOOOOO easy to maintain. I didn't have to flat iron it every day. When I go home over labor day weekend I think I'll get it chopped.

I cut my hair short every summer and most likely will keep doing it. But nice to you you got married on my Birthday (JulyBride) it's a great day isn't it. GO 7-25 lolSmiley smile

I tend to keep my hair long (about 2 inches past the shoulders) since I feel like it looks best long with my round face. However, I usually have lots of layers so that it looks stylish and bouncy. I'm going to grow most of the layers out for the weddings so that I can pull the hair back without dealing with short pieces everywhere. After the wedding I'll probably have the layers cut back in.

I'm not married yet, but I am definitely getting a haircut of some sort after the wedding! I've been growing it out (no styles - I usually have layers) for the wedding and I hate how it looks right now. I've taken to wearing it in a ponytail or pulled back.

Oh i am sooooooooooo jealous! i started growing mine out last year for the wedding. also around the same time i decided to transition to natural. i want it cut so bad right now but i can't manage it with this humidity right now. i am trying not to go back to getting it chemically processed. so right now i need to keep my length so i can go to a trusty ponytail on my bad hair days.

I can't wait to cut mine after the wedding as well!! The GA heat is ridiculous this year and long hair is NOT fun when it's 110 degrees outside with the heat index!!

You all look cute with shorter hair! I've promised FH I would never get a wife chop...and I'll never be one of those older woman with a super short cut. No offense to anyone else, but I just love my hair. I feel like it's part of what makes me feminine. I'll keep mine as long as possible for as long as I can. Smiley smile

I chopped almost 9in off mine about a month after the wedding, right after our TTD session! It was a few inches past my braline, and now it's right at my shoulders. I love it the way it is, but I kinda miss my long hair too...

My DH doesn't like my hair short. It's pretty long right now.

FH prefers "short and flippy" lol. Buut I prefer longer. I have had it shorter thsn i like for the past 8 yrs. But growing it out takes patience (and no lapse in judgement on certain days.lol) I doubt that I will cut it off for a while after the wedding. I am taking vitamins to help grow it out right now and they are making a difference Smiley smile
