Theme!!

Do you have any details of your wedding planned yet? Dress, venue, flowers, etc.? This can help with the theme. I really didn't have to choose a theme. I picked what I liked and the theme kind of choose us hahaha My theme is classic, romantic and a hint of rustic.

Your venue might really determine what theme or style works best for you, so I would start looking for venues if you haven't yet. There are so many venue types out there from barn to beach to garden to restaurant or event hall and all of them will sort of guide your other choices. Season also matters for color choices. Pinterest is a great place to look for color palates. For choosing colors, we took our favorite colors (his=green and mine=purple) and lightened them up for a spring wedding so we are going with sage and lavender. Our venue is a historic building with exposed brick and wood floors so it provided a pretty neutral space for any color or style we wanted.

There are so many different wedding themes, colors, styles to choose from that there is obviously no right or wrong. When you imagine your wedding what do you see?

Have you thought about what colors you would like to incorporate? Have you thought about what style of venue you would like to have your wedding in? All of these things will influence your wedding style.

I chose my theme based on my venue which is a seafood restaurant. They have a private room called "the barn" so that's how we started doing rustic but then we went to a store and saw the cutest bird candle holder things. (I can't describe it) LOL! But they look like they belong in an antique store. We also got a birdcage so now we are rustic lovebirds. haha!
