They say the first year of marriage is the hardest...

FutureMrsKC, on June 3, 2019 at 1:54 PM Posted in Married Life 0 13

...and boy oh boy. We have been hit with some BAD LUCK the last few months! We haven't had this many "set-backs" in all of the years we have been together!

Really though, the best thing about 2019 has been getting married, but once the ink dried on that marriage license back in January God put us to WORK.

First I wrecked my car into debris that a semi blew into the road, that was $1000 out of pocket to fix the car. Then I had to get a molar pulled after it chipped and cracked which led to weeks of pain from healing and a terrible dental experience. We've had 2 deaths in the family of very close family members. And to add to the list, my husband was just unexpectedly laid off with 30 other employees. Thankfully he was taken back at his old job before this one, but its a HUGE pay cut and we are still struggling. Throw in some smaller things here and there as well as me traveling for work and its been stressful.

We have been thick into house projects and baby saving which has all come to a halt. We feel like we are struggling so hard to get ahead.

We've done a pretty good job of not letting these events affect our marriage, but sometimes the stress and depression sets in and we struggle to remain positive and hopeful.

We could definitely use some good vibes and words of encouragement as we navigate the next 6 months of 2019!!

Good thoughts coming your way! Just try to take these challenges and strengthen your marriage from them. Keep the lines of communication open so you both can express how you are feeling during these difficult times, and keep trying to stay positive. It is okay to feel sad sometimes and healthy to acknowledge it, let it out, allow yourself to feel the emotions but then let it go and try to see how you can move on and grow from this. it sounds like you are already doing all of this so just keep up the good work! Things can only go up and you will be so much stronger in your marriage after seeing all you got through together. Sending love to you!

Aww definitely sending you positive vibes and thoughts your way love. I am sorry you are going through all of this all at once. I agree with the PP. There are def set backs and trials to go through to test you in life especially engagement/marriage(not married yet but I sure do feel like a lot of things are hitting me in the face with a brick already). Most things will resolve. Good luck to you and stay strong Smiley smile

Woosah! 2018 was that kind of year for us. We weren't and still aren't married- But, problems are problems. I swear every which way we turned we would hit another rock in the road. I honestly stayed prayed up and kept my faith bigger than the sky. My FH was the one who literally got depressed over everything. To much of our surprise 2019 came and it was 10X's better UNTIL my dad was in a chemical plant explosion, now he has PTSD along with other mental illness's. So these past two years have nearly made me want to just give up on everything. But, again I stay prayed up. Every Sunday in church I cry, I pray, I ask God to just please help me handle things that come my way the best I can. If I have learned anything these past 2 years its that life never does what you expect. There are going to be curve balls, mountains to climb, roadblocks you hit. But, then their is your husband/wife/children. & that alone is enough to help you breath in and breath out and appreciate life for what it is.

What I am trying to say is Life is going to be Life. As long as you have each other- Everything will work its self out.

Sending good vibes your way!!! Smiley heart

Marriage is for life, and everyday you are together shows how much you love and care for each other. Love is not easy. Finding your way together though the mess that is given you, makes your relationships stronger. So when you have a day to relax you can really appreciate what you've accomplished together.

I'm so sorry to hear that you are struggling. FH and I had some pretty big setbacks during our first two years together and our relationship was tested A LOT. We are still doing long distance which stinks but FH keeps a positive attitude and reminds me that we will make it through it because we've gotten through far worse things. So I guess that is the important thing to think about- you will both come out of the other side of the chaos stronger and closer! I pray that things get better for you and your husband.
