Things to do in the Florida Keys

Charlene, on July 25, 2023 at 3:07 PM Posted in Honeymoon 1 4

Soooooo... this might be a bit TMI, but my fiance has erectile dysfunction and we are unable to have intercourse (we have tried literally everything to fix it, but still no dice) and other sexual activities leave him in crippling pain due to his tendonitis among other things. So a honeymoon full of sex is sort of out of the question so we need to find other activities to do. We will be staying near Marathon and the place we are staying has a beach, but we wonder what to do. My fiance can't swim (he took lessons when he was a kid, but couldn't get it) and we don't like noise and crowds so we are kind of stumped.

You can go out on a boat, rent bikes, kayak, water ski, relax, visit a state park, check out some fun restaurants, I believe there’s an aquarium, see if there are any fun concerts or shows taking place while you ll be there , check out the local shops, take walks along the water, definitely look up the area on trip adviser they usually offer some good suggestions. This article has some great tips https://www.weddingwire.com/wedding-ideas/florida-keys-honeymoon-itinerary

    Have fun!

Consider renting a car, at least for a couple days, and driving down to the Lower Keys. You'll find great restaurants along the way and beautiful scenery. There's lots a great little shops to explore down there as well as museums.

I second what everyone else is saying about the tours, boats, museums, etc. At night, they do great drag shows if that’s your sort of thing. The state parks in FL are gorgeous, so I would definitely recommend checking any nearby ones out. And, of course, getting some beach time in.

I understand that you're dealing with some unique challenges and looking for alternative activities for your upcoming honeymoon. It's important to find ways to make your trip enjoyable and memorable even without focusing on traditional sexual activities. Considering your preferences for tranquility and avoiding crowds, here are a few suggestions for things to do near Marathon:

Beach Strolls: Enjoy leisurely walks along the beach, especially during quieter times, to soak in the beautiful scenery and spend quality time together.

Picnics: Pack a picnic basket with your favorite snacks and have a peaceful beachside picnic.

Sunrise or Sunset Viewing: Watch the sunrise or sunset together, which can be incredibly romantic and peaceful.

Seaside Dining: Look for local restaurants with ocean views where you can have a quiet and intimate meal.

Stargazing: Spend your evenings stargazing on the beach or from a comfortable spot at your accommodation.

Nature Walks: Explore any nearby nature trails or parks for some light hiking and nature appreciation.

Couples' Spa Day: Pamper yourselves with a couples' spa treatment or relaxation session.

Boat Tours: Consider a private boat tour or charter to explore the coastal waters without the noise and crowds.

Art and Craft Activities: Engage in art or craft activities together, such as sketching, painting, or crafting personalized souvenirs.

Local Exploration: Discover the local culture and attractions by visiting museums, galleries, and small shops in the area.
