Things you as a guest wish was offered

Michelle, on November 17, 2021 at 10:51 PM Posted in Planning 0 3
From weddings you have attended, what do you wish the couple had offered to make the day/evening more pleasant? Even if it’s not required, what would you like to see considered?

For example, maybe a fully stocked bathroom basket? Water prior to the outdoor ceremony? Skip the dancing between courses or skip the toasts entirely?

I do love a midnight snack.

Also, I really think it's best to make sure the canapes begin to be circulated, and THEN the bar opens for cocktail hour - I've been to a few weddings where only alcohol was offered for a good hour, hour and a half, and was circulated, whilst the food was much later, and all put in one spot. The older family members flocked around the table, and the younger guests felt rude shoving old Aunt Whoever out of the way, so we were starving and a bit tipsy by the time the actual meal was served.

I guess what I'm saying is - sufficient food, served regularly? LOL.

Also I'm curious about the baskets for the bathrooms. How many of us are doing that? I've thought about it, but am still not sure whether to bother or not?

I love it when the couple provides transportation to the venue, makes everything so much easier. A hotel block is also a nice gesture, if we have to travel for a wedding. Water on tables or in baskets, without having to ask a waiter for it, is good, because while I don't mind waiting for other drinks, I don't want to wait for water when I'm thirsty. Other than that, good food in sufficient quantities, an open bar and a DJ and I'm a very happy guest. Also, the bathrooms are important, both the quantity and the cleanliness - I've once been to an outdoor wedding with only two bathroom containers for like 150 people, the lines were huge and they got really smelly and dirty after an hour or two.

You know the water for the ceremony is a good touch actually. the last couple of weddings i been to for the ceremony portion there really wasn't any refreshments. at the moment i didn't feel annoyed by that because i guess i wasn't thirsty haha but that IS a nice touch though just to have
